GREAT! but beware...

Love Shark Vacuums. This one has great suction on hard surface floors and on low pile carpet!
However, if you have a medium to long carpet - DO NOT get this style. It has too much suction for longer carpet and there is no way to manually turn the pressure down...It pulls the fibers up around the beater bar and you can't push it back & forth.

Great Vacuum! Picks up a lot more than my old vac

My old "stick" Shark finally gave out. This time, I decided to go with the larger Shark vacuum: the Shark Navigator. I have had it now for two weeks and I love it! I have a lot of pets, so pet hair is everywhere. This new vacuum takes care of the problem. I did a test: I vacuumed my sofa cushions with my new Shark, I then sat on the cushions with a dark pair of pants. Lo and behold, no pet hair on the backside of the pants! I like that the dust bin is much larger than what was on my old "stick" Shark -- there are less trips to the trash can to empty. The suction is awesome. I do have some oriental carpets with fringe, and my new vacuum doesn't suck the fringe up -- like my old Shark did. That's a bonus for me! The attachments work well, and it's quick and easy to disengage the vacuum pole from the main vacuum. The vacuum is louder than my old Shark, but I don't care; it does not bother me. I wish the vacuum had a light near the base; I miss that. But it is not a deal-breaker. The only improvement I can think of is minor. The small hook on the vacuum where the cord can be attached to keep it up, secured, and away from your feet is too large. It does not hold the cord in place. The card keeps falling off. I fixed that by wrapping painter's tape around the cord (to make it thicker) at the spot where I attach the card to the hook. Now it's secured. Other than that, this vacuum is a keeper!!

Easy to use with nice features

I’ve been loving this vacuum! It replaced an older upright I had and I was astounded how much hair and dirt it picked up from the rugs even after I had just vacuumed. I love the self cleaning brush head since I have pets and it’s a dream! Works super on hardwood and to get along the toe kick in my kitchen. I like how far the extensions reach allowing me to vacuum my fan blades and corners of the ceiling. The only downside are the attachments. I find the dusting attachment difficult to use since it’s just the wrong angle to clean fan blades and I wished it would rotate freely. I also dislike the vacuum doesn’t have a spot to store all of them. If you don’t disconnect the canister the entire vacuum will tip over too when using the attachment since it’s not super stable. Other than that I can work around these “quirks” and still find it leagues better than my older one!
I would recommend this to a friend!

REPLACEMENT VACUUM OUT OF WARRANTY

I BOUGHT THIS TO REPLACE AN EXISTING NAVIGATOR LIFT AWAY PROFESSIONAL . THE AGENT COULDNT FIND THE SAME VACUUM, IM NOT SURE WHY, HOWEVER TOLD ME THIS WAS THE SAME UNIT. ITS NOT. THE CANISTER IS SMALLER AND I DONT FEEL LIKE IT HAS AS MUCH POWER AS MY OTHER SHARK NAVIGATER LIFT AWAY PROFESSIONAL. IM SLIGHTLY DISAPPOINTED. NONE OF THE ATTACHMENTS I HAVE FIT THIS MODEL.

Well, I guess I bought the wrong model!
Is there anyway to keep it from swiveling?
I am 91 and not really weak, but I can’t keep it going straight and it just keeps going in all directions. I had a small self propelled Shark which was fine but stopped working properly and the brush didn’t go around on carpet setting. Have only used the new vacuum once and not certain what to do with it. Can’t give it a good recommendation as not the model for me.

Great suction power

Used this twice now and it was amazing compared to my old vacuum. Great suction power! Couldn’t believe how full the canister filled up in just one room.
