The 25 liter backpack is so close to being my favorite pack ever for every day/travel/light adventure but the number of near misses is infuriating. The packs design has the feel of a battle between feature richness and a total minimalism where I am not sure either side succeeded. It seems like a few small additional features would have perfected this already decently heavy backpack. There is no hip belt (insane to ask for MORE money as an add on), there's no way for it to secure to the handle of a roller bag, the bladder compartment is almost completely unusable, the zippered pockets on the back panel could have been better layered to allow for storage of things like note pads, and absolutely no internal organization built in (not even a zipper pocket for pens or sunglasses). Other than that the pack is feature rich, easy to use, and carries a load very well.
Bought this one a few weeks ago and finally put it to use and I must say it’s a terrific bag for hiking. Packs nicely and it’s the most comfy PD bag I’ve tried. Fits me like a glove (I’m 5’5” and the adjustments recommended were great.
It looks and feels great. It’s lightweight and supportive. It’s been perfect for day hikes while my camera, lenses, and other items I take along with me. Highly recommend it!
Three things I wish Peak Design would do different

Luggage handle pass through, camera cube and side handle. Those are the three things I really wish was different in this backpack. I really wish there’s a luggage handle pass through so I can put it on my suitcase when I walk around the airport. Using the string is just not enough to support the weight of a fully packed bag of camera gears. Here’s an idea: make a small pocket so that the hip belt can be stored and open up the back of the pocket so the luggage handle can pass through. Please make this improvement in V2. I also want to have a side handle or two on this backpack. It’s not easy to pick up from the ground just by the straps themselves. The 45L version back opens ever so slightly less than the large camera cube. I don’t see the purpose of this design. It makes the camera cube not able to be closed fully. It makes the process of opening and closing the camera cube so much harder. There are a few other things I wish Peak Design had thought through. The chest straps are too thin. If you have to put two thin chest straps, why not put one wider one? Also, I really wish they add a top zip. But it hasn’t caused issues on my gears just yet and I’m carrying the rain fly everywhere just to be safe.
I love the backpack in its white color. I love that Peak Design finally made the straps work and it doesn’t hurt my shoulders. The new hip belt is also greatly improved from my 45L travel backpack. I’m a huge fan of Peak Design and I’m only giving a 1 star review to get your attention. This backpack is great for everyday outdoor photography. I just wish someone inside Peak Design will ask the old question: if it’s not broken, why fix it?
I bought this duing the kickstart. I has been my go to backpack for motorcycling; I love that I can use the side loops to securly hold my waterbottle and prevent it from going forward. Also love that with the adaptable space I can bring an extra visor.
I love this bag! I bought it for backpacking around Central Asia as a daypack that would also fit my FX3 kit and also as a cabin bag for the plane. It’s had plenty of scuffs and scrapes already (I’m two weeks into the trip) but it just bounces back. The mass of pockets is great for organisation. But when I first got the bag I fully ‘lost’ something because I forgot that those pockets existed! In hindsight sight I think I’d have been fine with the 25L but that’s my fault. I would definitely recommend it if you want something rugged, versatile and with plenty of organisation :)
I bought this bag two travels ago and think it's great! I was a little critical, because of some opinions saying it's overengineered. But I think, it's not! It'd perfectly flexible for my multipurpose use: Transporting a chainsaw is as easy as mounting a tent. Using it for collecting wood is as good as for protecting my laptop. It's easy to clean, also Inside.
Just traveled with this bag, used it as a personal time to go with Peak Design Roller. This may be my everyday pack. I love the access to everything. Was comfortable and easy to hike with! Absolutely love this bag.
