I brought this with extreme skepticism knowing what I have read about the sensitive buckle. I loaded mine with a Tenba byob 9 camera insert, Sony a7CR with 2 prime lenses. With these weights it requires a bit of pressure to release the plates, and the amount of travel the button needs to be push is just right. Maybe PD has improved on the buckle, or maybe there were some QC issues, I dunno. Just happy mine works great because for an EDC, it is a nice buckle.
What I do know is this buckle design may be prone to bag snatchers, so I use a OpTech uniloop to secure the buckle when travelling in places a little more problematic.
And the other thing I know, is this is the only PD sling I like! I went back to Domke after so many branded bags, and decided to give this a go because of the softer materials. Only thing missing is a softer, more malleable camera insert for this bag to truly realised its potential. (I have one smaller and lighter than the tenba OTW that fits my setup) The bag strap is also more comfortable than I remember, so I am happy with my purchase.
This is the best bag I’ve ever owned. It’s so comfortable on, its size capacity is amazing. I can’t believe how much time I wasted on cheaper bags just trying to save a buck. Will buy this again and again forever.
Got this for Father's Day and have been using it for a few months now. It's the perfect size for some daily essentials and helps keep my pockets mostly empty!
I purchased this bag along with other items during the Kickstarter campaign and could not be happier with its utility and hardiness. I just completed a 5 month journey, mostly overland from Turkey to China, and this bag rarely left my side. It was great for an everyday carry and I found that I preferred it over a small backpack for day hikes in the mountains. It holds, well, a lot. On a regular basis I carried a phone, my journal, a Kindle, my Sony RX100, a second small notebook, Bose headphones, and a small portable charger along with a number of small items such as lip balm, tissues, etc.. Additionally, the material held up very well and I love the bungie straps on the bottom where I routinely kept a rain coat, second layer, or a water bottle. For air journeys it is all I kept out of the overhead as it held everything I needed to keep me occupied during the flight.
I did not have any issues with the buckle throughout this time. The only thing I would like to see improved is to have the small pockets inside have some elastic at the top to help hold items in these spaces. Otherwise, looking forward to using again on my next adventure. Great bag and super useful.
I bought this bag about 1 month ago while visiting their Venice California location. Great color. Really thoughtful design and features. A great every day crossbody. Would buy again. Likely will buy the other colors as well to give me more styling options.
A great day-pack size for small things and simple camera setup (DJI Pocket 3+mics+Insta360 X4) still room left for other things like power bank etc. It's not too big and not too small, super lightweight for daily carry.
This bag would otherwise be a great unstructured sling that molds to your body when worn if not for the easy release clip. It is TOO easy to release and the bag immediately falls to the ground. If you have anything fragile in the bag it will likely be broken as the bag does not have a lot of cushion or padding (which would be fine if there wasn’t this risk of dropping the bag on the floor with normal use). Just a slight touch of the clip when adjusting the bag on your shoulder will cause it to come undone. Huge design flaw not seen in any other competitor slings I have in this category (eg Bellroy, Aer, tonic etc).
