Very good, low profile fan that does exactly what it was intended to do: bring fresh air in from the outside. I was really happy that the relatively narrow depth fit inside my screen so I did not have to remove it, the flow is strong, and the fan is quiet. The one small issue that decreased this to four stars from five was that there was a persistent electrical/mechanical odor in the airflow for about the first month. Otherwise, a great product I will purchase again for other rooms.

It's a very sleek fan, quiet and efficient, but there is no screen to keep bugs out of your house if you’re blowing cool air in from outside. I can’t imagine why a manufacturer would not have designed one in the unit, seems like a no brainier.

Although the window fan works well, the fit does not. It is advertised to fit windows 33'-38" wide. However the styrofoam blocks that are included are supposed to be used to fit in the spaces on either side of the wider windows but they do not work well. It is difficult to cut them to fit and there are always gaps. A nice product but not for windows wider than the unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Because of the time of year we have been unable or rather it’s unnecessary to install at this time but I can tell you that it’s easy to do. If you’ve ever installed a window ac then you can do this but I think it’s possible to do with one. If it’s too small for your window it comes with these hard foam type blocks to put on the sides of the fan. It blows a nice amount of air to keep you cool. I think it’s definitely more efficient than a regular fan or an ac and blowing outside air coils off rather well. It’s a decent product if you don’t want or can’t afford air.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Vornado window fan is amazing! It has really good airflow, super easy to install. It’s durable, and not very loud. I like how the you can change the airflows, so it can blow in or out, which is amazing for when your house gets Smokey while cooking or if you have smokers in the home. It blows really nice air, it freezes us out at night. I like how it comes with extra side pieces so it can fill gaps of various window spaces. They thought of everything. Very nice portable fan!

Great product, does not fit on my windows!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First I was surprised how lightweight the Vornado Portal is. No struggle taking it out of the box. I had it standing up before installing it and my 3 year old knocked it down, IT DID NOT BREAK OR BEND!!! I shared videos showing how snug the side pieces fit, my concern is the small openings. Will flies get in, I can see ants sneaking past! I was disappointed when it did not fit well on any of my windows.I tried sitting the Vornado further back, in hopes it will aline with the side foam pieces. However because the cord was in the way, I had no luck. My last video will show the gap spaces I had left. Although I was disappointed, oooo man the power and quietness made me LOVE IT! Two different functions, blows air in out. Both are extremely quiet, especially when switching the blades inward and out word! The cord is long and sturdy. If you are concerned about it damaging while sitting in the window, there are foam protective pieces on the top and bottom. Sad it didn't work for me, doesn't mean it won't work for you!

The airflow is strong and the noise level is very low compared to other window fans. The controls are very easy and efficient to understand.
