We recently moved to an apartment in a retirement community. The heat/air is forced air. Very dry air. This evaporator is amazing. Just what we needed. I love that I can add water directly to the unit! Perfect!

Trifecta of problems

I bought this product a few weeks ago and it is not working as expected.
1. The humidity setting does not work. It does not automatically turn on when the humidity goes low. I have to keep it at on (CO) at all times.
2. The fan is really loud. It sounds like it is going to break at any moment. Should I be concerned about breaking and causing a fire?
3. The flap to add water comes off. It is of pour design. Yes I can put it back on easily but I should not have to deal with this.

Loved the concept of the top fill. Was excite about it since you discontinued the black older model (MY FAVORITE THAT WORKS GREAT AND I AM STILL USING). THIS NEW ONE SOUNDED LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN. Bring back the older black model PLEASE!!!

NO Safety Auto Shut off!

I do like this E3 humidifier (decent looking, easy to fill, right amount of humidity based on your settings), but my reason for deducting 2 stars is that it has no automatic shut off when water gets low. Every humidifier I’ve ever owned has had this feature. Some might say, well you shouldn’t have ordered this. I would say that I just “assumed” it had that safety feature! Any potential buyer of ANY humidifier, use distilled water to you’ll have white dust all over everything!

Smart features do not work

Hoping one of the other models has a functional hygrometer control loop. Changing the desired humidity on this model has very little effect on function and, if it does have a hygrometer, it must be wildly inaccurate.

Great quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Vornado EV3 humidifier is really impressive. It is large enough to do an entire room and is such great quality. It is study, solid and looks really nice. There is a water compartment in the back that is easy to fill and doesn’t spill like my old humidifier. I have 2 kids with allergies and asthma so this is going to be so good for them in the winter months.
