I wonder why the thermostat does absolutely nothing when set from 0 to 4. Strange since it only goes to 10.

Excellent Whole Product

I only buy things that will last many years and have protection in case they don't. This product checks both of these boxes. As a machinist, I know when I am holding a quality product, and I much prefer over engineering to short lifespan products. This product has given me everything I asked for and a warranty to back it up in case I experience an issue. Yes, sometimes products have problems after they leave a manufacturing line but I haven't experienced one yet and if I did then no big deal, Vornado has me covered!
I would recommend this to a friend!

So good I bought another one!

I needed a heater for my office, the supplied one kept blowing the circuit breaker. I bought this lovely, and over Christmas break took it home for the week. My wife fell in love with it, so we bought one for her bedroom. The lower setting is plenty, but the high setting kicks butt! It's quiet, so quiet that I sometimes forget to turn it off. The thermostat allows you to set exactly how warm you want, and you can turn it down incrementally as the room warms.
Now our second unit had a problem. The low speed stopped working, and as I mention above that gets too dang hot for a small room, roughly 12'x12'. It's under warranty so they replace it, no problems. I don't even have to return the unit, I provide a photo of the thing showing the serial number and the cut power cord. This also let's me know the replacement isn't a refurbished one.
Great service and made in America. They answer the phone! I'm buying a humidifier next, I've had several of their fans and I'm turning into a brand loyalist I guess.
By the way, those reviews we see from the people who got free units for the review? They sound like they were written by marketing people (I used to be one) and I do not think of as trustworthy. That said, mostly "not wrong".

I bought this heater a few weeks ago, to heat my rather large bathroom. I am totally impressed with how quickly it heats up the entire 10x10 room.
I love the fact that this heater is small but mighty, and when I saw the color choices, classic retro design and fair price, all made in The USA, SOLD!

Great looks BUT....

LOVE the look of this heater; is perfect retro style, love the mechanical toggle switch too.
Unfortunately am returning mine due to the fact that it has no fan only mode.... the error to check for that is 100% on me; but seemed like such a given that I didn't think to look for it. Just not useful to have this as a heater only and then to have to have a 2nd just as a fan. Makes it un-usable for me; wish Vornado made a combo unit with this styling.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

As usual Vornado has created a well built and stylish product. I have to admit I was a little disappointed in what seems like a fairly weak heating ability. If style is more important then this might be the heater for you. If heating capacity is what you’re looking for then maybe not worth the extra money.

A very nice quiet machine. When set on low (750W) the heat output at the face of the fan is 118°F, at 36" in front of the fan the heat output is 66°F, at 60" it is just blowing the ambient air around the room.
Pros: Quiet
Cons: Lacks Power
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

As the warmed air moves into the room, it mixes with the rest of the air in the room and the temperature drops. As the air in the room is repeatedly circulated and warmed, the ambient air temperature of the room will increase.

This beautifly crafted local heater will not heat up a 12' X 12' room. IN FACT, if you put the blower on high, the heat is there for the first 2 feet only, after that, it's blowing cold air at you. The HEATER ELEMENT is not big enough or hot enough to deliver heat past 2' from the front.
