I bought an Evap40 three years ago, and it worked great in the master bedroom; ran 16 hours a day. Then the motor started making some noise. I called Vornado, and they replaced the whole unit under warranty, for FREE!
I was so impressed that I bought another one for the other end of the house. It runs 24 hours a day, most days. We live in the High Rockies, and the Rh can be 5% outside in the summertime, so these Vornado units are very good to have.

I've had this unit for about 2 weeks. and it's ran constantly. Also, I've owned and used other humidifiers for years.
Overall, this will work for a large room, but pay attention to the size of room indicated in the marketing material and you'll be very happy. The two storage bottles are designed with high integrity, they are exceptionally easy to fill and replace. It is easy to view the water levels so you can glance to see when filling is needed. One side usually empties first and then the second one starts emptying. Since there are two bottles, with handles, transporting to and from the water source is easy. This makes it easy to manage the refill schedule as the humidity in the air will change the frequency of refill needed.
The unit is noisy on the HIGH fan setting, but I use medium and it's not annoying at all. I have only this one humidifier in the house and it's in a great room that is 50% larger than the unit is rated for. I live in Austin Texas and this time of year, it gets quite dry. The unit is able to keep the humidity between 45-50 which works for me and my grand piano. I fill daily and it doesn't run empty. I purchased direct from the factory and I'm very satisfied, but feel it's retail price is about 10-15% high. I don't like to pay middle-men and like to support US manufactories, so I paid more than with Amazon. If you can fill daily, you will be very happy with the performance when used as described.

I bought two of these humidifiers and find them very well designed. The tanks are removable, easy to fill and install, and the entire unit very easy to clean, even though I noticed absolutely no buildup inside the units following several weeks of use. The units were still very clean. I appreciate the face the base is very lightweight and only a couple of inches of water sits in the base, while it slowly refills, not only keeping it cleaner but allowing for ease in moving or emptying for cleaning...lightweight.

Leaves No White Dust

This large room, 4 gallon capacity, humidifier doesn't leave any white dust on furniture like most sonic humidifiers. You will have the continued expense of replacing the "wicks" about every 6 weeks, but they are what filters out the minerals that leave behind the white dust. I wish this model had a thermostate and ran much quieter. If you turn the fan speed down to low it's whisper quiet. I would buy again.

I live in an all electric home...had a humidifier for the last 20 plus years and it runs 24/7/365. Wouldn't buy any other brand than Vornado! Great price, great service, ease of ordering filters...wouldn't own any others.

We have had one like this for years but this year it just wouldn't turn on. Guess the motor is shot. This one is a much lighter color, which I like, and is much quieter than the old model. On low, really don't hear it, just a soft hum. Very pleased with it and it shipped very quickly.

I had two of them a long time ago and needed a third--New York City forced-air heating is very dry. I tried every other Vornado and had my problems with every one--leaking, replacing, leaking again. But now I am so happy and have no more worries. I'm back to being a cheerleader for this Vornado humidifier.
