I have owned 4 different humidifiers over the years. First attracted to this one for capacity. Very happy that it is made in America. Performance is very good. Simple, only 4 pieces and 2 filters make it easy to maintain. Quiet and efficient. I am a "happy camper".

Are you kidding me?? This is the very best humidifier we have ever used.! We have used ours continuously for 7+ years and there is not a thing wrong with it! We have bought 4 other Vornado's (in fact I just bought the supermist Vornado ~ but nothing ever worked like this one.! I was just going to call requesting it! Now what do I do....I have 4 others and want this one??!

I bought the Evap40 about 2 weeks ago and it has been going steady ever since it arrived with the exception of a couple of rainy days when I didn’t need it. It reliably keeps my hydrostat at a constant 64% where I want it. I keep it on low fan speed and medium moisture and it is perfect. The air is cool that comes from the unit. I am a very light sleeper and have never been disturbed by the fan noise or gurgling of the tanks. I’d even go as far to say that I sleep more comfortably therefore soundly with the humidified air. I do use a bacteriostatic/water treatment because it takes a few days to go through one tank of water.

I got one back in 2001 and mine is still a trooper. I am really really lazy and the high capacity really helps. I was looking for one a few years ago for a friend so I am glad to see these are back.

The best humidifier!

I love this unit, built strong, quiet fan, easy to operate and clean, and the two large tanks last for 2-3 days without having to be refilled. So great!! Especially great for keeping at my senior mother's home, so I don't have to refill it every day and the water lasts between visits!
This style unit by Vornado is the only humidifier I will buy. I owned two with just a single tank on one side (now discontinued) - and thank god they still make this double tank unit!! It is great for larger areas and maintains the right amount of humidity in super dry climates like Colorado. This is the best quality humidifier you can buy that is very low maintenance too! I pray Vornado always continues to make this exact unit!!

I like the new tanks, I'm not sure about the new 1" thick pads, as I haven't had them long enough. The top is a little unstable and comes lose easly, other than that I like it so far.
Pros: Adjustable, Compact, Good Power Output, Lightweight, Quiet, Stable Base
Cons: Unstable

I bought the same model about 10 years ago. My mom and sister both bought them, too. A couple of years ago, Mom needed a new one (she had water damage in her home from a leaking pipe) and I couldn't find this model. I'm glad they started making it again. It's the only one I like, because it only needs to be filled once a day. My old one hasn't worn out yet, but now I have a new one so I'm giving the "old" one to my nephew.

My first choice humidifier is a built-in system connected to plumbing lines. But when I can't have that, my favorite humidifier is the Vornado Evaporative humidifier. It's important that I can easily throw out the old wicks and put in fresh new ones. And it's easy to clean/wipe down the plastic tray. Recently my nose was clogged at night and I had to breathe through my mouth . The next day I opened the humidifier and saw the wicks were brownish yellow. I threw them out and put in new ones and breathed fine the next night. How nice to have that solution. One humidifier is enough for my 1200 sq ft apartment. I've had bad luck with ultrasonic humidifiers. They don't seem to put as much moisture in the air. My skin notices the difference. But I have NOT tried a Vornado Ultrasonic humidifier.
