After receiving the item, I realized that it was not what I expected. I did not use item and sent it back.
I expected a humidifier which would work either through ultrasound technology, or heat. This humidifier consists of of a water tank and a fan. This might work for summers in dry areas, but not for winter. Humidifiers are usually used for dry air in winter, and I doubt this item would do the job.
The return process was quite easy and the support team was very helpful.

I bought the Evap 40 several months back. It goes through wicks in less than two weeks. The company reps blame my water supply. I guess it requires distilled water, so if you buy one don't expect to use your faucet to filled it up. Good luck in getting the distilled water from a gallon container into the Evap 40 reservoir. I would not buy again!

Two years ago we moved into a timber frame house with a 14ft high great-room ceiling. For the next two winters we used our old humidifiers which really struggled to take care of the great-room, dining room ad kitchen - all in an open floor plan. So I began the search for a better humidifier last Spring. Finally this fall I found the Vornado and since I was out of time to order something, I went ahead and bought one thinking if I liked it I would buy a second. It was a great decision! This humidifier is so quiet that we run it on high all the time and it services a 20x30 great-room, 20x14 dining room, 20x15 kitchen, 20x18 bedroom and 15x18 office. In two days it raised the humidity from 52% to 62%. Great product (so good I don't think I need to get a second!)
Pros: Compact, Good Power Output, Lightweight, Quiet, Stable Base

Wow was so glad to see this humidifier back in circulation. We have had two of them for many years and they are still running as well as when we first purchased them. I had wanted to get another one for my daughter but could not find them until now. Vornado is a great company from their products to their customer service.

Great humidifier

This humidifier works great. It has raised the humidity in our entire home which is 2200 sq ft. Quiet enough to have in the main living area. It does make a bubbling sound as the tanks are refilling the base but we now we are used to it and at least I know it working when it does it. Good controls and easy operation.
