For many years, I used a case and bike mounting system from another company. When they finally released a Magsafe-compatible case, I was thrilled but when I got it, I discovered that the Magsafe charging was spotty at best. I've had ZERO such problems with the Peak Everyday Case with Magsafe. whether its on the Magsafe charger in my car, on my desk, or bedside. It snaps on (more strongly than cases from other vendors, too) and charging happens without any fiddling, adjusting, turning, etc. Plus, the case feels very solid without that "I'm holding a tank in my hand" feeling you get with other rugged cases.
I bought the yellow/sun case (with the loop) last week. It looks and feels great! The texture on the back feels nice, the case is snug with the phone, charging port is easily accessible, and it feels very high quality. I haven’t used the loop for very long but it feels sturdy and magnetizes back in place nicely. The loop is great to use in portrait mode, a little difficult to use in landscape, but not impossible. The buttons are a little wiggly but it’s not super noticeable and they’re very easy to press. The materials are great. I love the shine on the buttons, the look of the SlimLink metal on the back, and how the Peak Design logo is placed very subtly on the side, only really visible at certain angles when light reflects off of it. I’d definitely buy the case again for my next phone.
Quite sturdy and great looking case, just as what you’d expect from Peak Design. The magnet is so strong you sometimes may even have a hard time taking that off from the MagSafe devices!
The case is as beautiful as it is functional, slim, and just plain smart. I get hung up on the beauty... iPhones are so intrinsically beautiful that covering them up with a chunky piece of wood or plastic seems counter intuitive. But PD's case doesn't detract from the user experience or my personal appreciation of the device. I've also dropped it more than once at this point on concrete -- 100% success.
I generally prefer to go caseless with my iPhone; I just think the device is so good-looking in its natural state. However, reality being what it is - ie. these phones are expensive - I wanted to have a case that I also find to be aesthetically pleasing and minimal, and this case fits the bill. Plus, it is a gateway that allows me to take advantage of the rest of Peak's mobile ecosystem, which I have been slowly doing one component at a time.
