I was an avid supporter of the slim mobile wallet when I got it in 2021. Overall was a great product. Slim and could leave on your phone or off. I preferred mostly off because of the weight together with the phone and just used it as a slim card holder wallet. The cards easily slide in and out and the look was very cool and impressed lots of friends at the restaurant table when connected to the phone case. The longevity was about 3 years. The sewn in magnet on the flip cover came undone and so the magnets fell out rendering it no longer get usable. Given the daily use for 3 years I would still recommend the product just know the shelf life if you fidget with the top closure as I was prone to do.
I bought it 3 weeks ago and connect with a Peak Design phone case for Iphone 16 Pro max. It turned out amazing, my co-workers and friends kept asking me which brand because it looks amazing with Farbric materials; besides, charcoal color makes it even more special. The Wallet Stand is super helpful that you can put credit cards and use it vertical or horizontal side. I really love it.
After over a year, still my favorite wallet. And it's the color of asphalt. Which is great when you find that you dropped your wallet in the parking lot and it's still there 4 hours later because no one realized what it was. Love this thing. If it wore out tomorrow I would buy another immediately. It still looks as good as it did day 1 with daily carry. This was my 4th one and the first that checked all the boxes for being thin, holding plenty of stuff, and being secure. Worried that the cards will fall out? Don't worry.
It works perfectly with the every day case. Very handy, but the price is a bit expensive (nearly twice the price of the case). The corners at the bottom are a bit "sharp". When I have the phone+case+wallet in hand, the bottom of the wallet is not very nice to the skin.
I like the fact that some people can fit 8-9 cards into this wallet so that's why I got it, since most others don't have this capacity. Knowing that I don't need many cards when I head out, I thought I could fit some bills (folded into thirds) in there instead...and was pleasantly surprised at just how many bills I could comfortably fit in there (easily 8-10 Canadian bills, which are made of thin plastic, plus 2 cards).
The magnetic flap is a great addition because you may sometimes not have the perfect number of cards/bills in there to keep everything snug, so it prevents anything from falling out like most of the other wallets out there (except of course the ones that are enclosed plastic cases but those are even bulkier).
The stand does make it thicker so you'll need to decide if it's useful enough to deal with the thicker wallet...otherwise if it's not something you need too often, the one without the stand would be a fair bit sleeker and I assume substantially lighter because the stand is made of 2 solid, flat pieces of steel and a hinge.
I do hope the fabric is durable for years of use though, but I contacted PD before making the purchase and they said that if it wears out, that's covered under their lifetime warranty policy so I felt confident in giving this a go. They did say that their newer nylon material is going to be more abrasion resistant though.
Absolutely love this wallet—I have the slim version. I use it both with and without my phone, and it's soooo convenient. The opening mechanism is a joy to use! I originally got it on Kickstarter, and it still hasn’t torn or worn out. Thanks, Peak Design, for the amazing quality and design!
I have several Peak Design products including a backpack, packing cubes, tech kit, and a phone stand and they have all been excellent. If they were the Peak of design then this wallet is the Death Valley of design. #1 - the magnets that were supposed to be so strong are not. The wallet falls off the phone just by taking it out of my pocket. #2 - The mechanism for removing cards is anything but smooth. #3 - The construction looks like an at home project. Not your best work, Peak Design.
