2 problems with XTD

I bought this screwdriver Dec 2015. Nice form factor, easy to hold, reasonable power/torque, good price. I assumed that all battery powered drivers were variable speed these days. This is NOT a variable speed device. You cannot vary the rpm or torque which makes it unsuitable for delicate work which is what I bought it for. So it became much less used. 15 months after purchase and light duty the forward/back switch broke. If the switch hadn't broken, I would say this was an ok tool.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for you feedback. While a lot of battery powered drivers do offer variable speed control, is not a standard feature and it is more difficult to find on the smaller battery powered drivers such as the XTD driver. For our drills that do offer variable speed control, it is stated in the description.
Additionally, if your XTD Driver was purchased in Dec 2015, it would still be covered under our 3-year warranty period. A faulty switch would qualify your tool to get replaced.

Waited a lifetime for this product

I cannot recall how many door locks that I have installed and always had a problem driving the mounting bolts around the door knob.
This "screwdriver is built for the job", no more searching for an extra long phillips driver. What a time saver and makes look like a pro.

I owned the XTD driver with the easy change bits and was so pleased I decided to try the Xtended Reach Driver. I will probably use the Xtended reach more for multiple screwing jobs and the other for repairing things.
Both great!

This is very handy tool, with one caveat.
There is no place to safely store the bits. Perhaps a small compartment or a holder would make this perfect hobby driver

Neighbor had one, and I had to have one too. Easy to reach obscure locations and has adequate torque. Best for smaller jobs with smaller screws/bolts.
