A huge step up from our chest freezer.We like the power on light that projects onto the floor.

We found that for just the 2 of us, this freezer is the perfect size, fit in the space where our old one was, is quiet and has lots of room.

Compressor stopped working properly after 1 year

I own the model #FFFU14M1QWJ. The unit started frosting up after a year and I thoroughly defrosted and cleaned it. I gave it another shot, then life got busy. It is hard to find the warranty info online. The pdf on the complete manual is on page 22. Read it before you buy. This unit does not include a longer compressor warranty. I had to buy one 3 years later and am disappointed that I didn't get an extended warranty. Someone managed to convince me to get rid of my 40 year old chest freezer that worked so well. I was convinced that it was a huge power sucker. It turns out that I regret not keeping it. They don't make compressors like they used to.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It does not get better than this.

An upright freezer just does not get better than this. Like its sister, the 16 cu ft, this freezer freezes well, has uniform temperature, and is frost free. How do we know the temp is uniform? We hung Taylor fridge-freezer thermometers at every level. All we do is turn on the freezer (we don't even turn the temp dial further). We get consistent temps below -10C (below 15F). We could not be more pleased with this product.

Love it

This is replaced an older 18 cu Ft Figidaire model that was not frost free. Few months ago the seal wasn't working as well and the frost built-up fast. Wrestled with replacing the seal but decided to bite the bullet and go with this one. Best decision ever! Every time I open the door, I smile, not seeing any frost and knowing that I won't have to defrost it every 8 months. The green light is a bonus and the smaller size than our previous actually helped to reduce buying unnecessary groceries. Spent the time to level properly and I'm sure this will provide many years of use
