This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8800 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. First let me begin by saying that this is one of the quietest printers that I’ve used,..ever. My previous printer was an Epson ET-2400 and while I love the Ecotank, it was a noisy little bugger. It was also slower to print than I found the XP-8800 to be. Here’s the soup to nuts of my experience of this printer out of the box. It claims relatively small counter real estate and seemed rather compact for a photo printer when I first opened it, but as I discovered later, it hides a few little secrets; mainly it’s paper trays as well as its “catch” tray (which I will get to that coolness in a moment). There are two paper trays, one for the standard paper size of 8.5x11 and the other for 4x6 photo sizes, with a separate little section at the back of the printer for special things like envelopes etc. The two main paper trays are hidden at the front of the printer and can be loaded with all kinds of photo paper from standard to high gloss depending on what type of photo you want to print. Now what I just loved was the fact that the catch tray for the paper was hidden. Not gonna lie, I was looking for it and trying to figure out where the paper was supposed to come out. So imagine my surprise when I printed a test page out and the catch tray suddenly made its way out of the front of the printer ready to perform. Call me easily entertained, but I just thought that was really cool. When my page finished printing, I just tap the button on the very ample touch screen to tell the tray to go back home and away it went, back into the printer and out of the way. No more forgetting about it sticking out and accidentally hitting it or having a cat jump on it (yes, that happened with my last printer) because it ends up neatly tucked away in its little space. Back to the touchscreen; it is large and in charge. Easy to navigate and understand and quite bright (sorry for the glare in the photos but it’s pretty bright). Navigating from the app is very easy as well and since I tend to use my phone a great deal to print out recipes, and any of the many photos of my pugs, having the ease to print from my phone from either the app or the share button is a huge plus. This also prints quite fast and not just documents, but photos are printed quickly as well without sacrificing quality. I was floored at how much the printer stayed quiet even printing photos since many times a printer may be quieter during documents and then sound like a junkyard band printing photos. I was a little taken aback by the need for 6 cartridges as this is the first time that I have seen that in a printer but the image quality was fantastic so I reserve judgment, especially given that despite needing 6 cartridges, it’s still less to refill those than my other photo printer (not an Epson) and by less I mean by at least a hundred dollars. That’s a huge savings for me and is enough for me to say goodbye to my old photo printer for good. Overall, I fell in love with this printer relatively quickly after only a few days of seeing how well it prints, seeing its little hidden features and especially after finding out how quiet it was. It’s a great investment if you print photos and if you’re like me and print on the fly a lot. This printer is small enough and if I’m being honest, good looking enough, that it can be just about anywhere and mine is taking up permanent residence in my dining room so I can get my recipes and my pug photos whenever I want them without having to go down the hall to my office. I give this one a top shelf rating and am glad to add it to my electronics family.

This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8800 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. With that being said this is my honest review of the printer. I have owned many printers over the years and Epson printers have always been my favorite and this Expression Photo XP-8800 continues that feeling. Set-up was a breeze using the Epson Smart Panel app. The ink initialization took about 10 minutes but that's probably because of the six cartridge Claria ink system. I was able to connect my phone and computer without issue. From opening the box to connecting the app for set-up only took about 10 minutes. Once the set-up was complete it was time to actually print. I am very impressed with the speed and quality of the prints this machine creates. I was able to print full color photos in under 30 seconds. Black and white documents will print out in under 10 seconds. Two-sided printing isn't quite as quick but that's not a big deal to me. Just being able to print two-sided with such a compact machine is great. I would definitely recommend this printer to anyone who wants to print their own photos at home as well as just general printing needs.

This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8800 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. This printer has been the easiest to set up I have used. I really love setting up through the app as it feels like a real person is guiding me through the process making it easy to go at my speed instead of reading paper instructions or just watching a video. The whole process was very easy and I didn’t run into any issues. Overall, this printer is perfect for people who don’t use a computer much or like me who don’t always have my laptop out and ready to use. All I need is a phone or tablet and I can do pretty much everything from there and the printer can do quite a bit as a stand alone as well.
Feature wise I was a bit shocked when the tray that catches the paper popped out when it did the initial print on the printer. I’ve never seen a printer do that, but I think that’s a cool feature since I tend to forget to pull it out and end up with papers on the floor otherwise. I use this printer for both my side gig of designing and creating along with my main job which involves a lot of document printing and scanning. The copy/restore photos feature is probably my favorite built in feature. It does a beautiful job restoring old photos all on it’s own even though it does give you a preview on the screen so you can make a few adjustments if needed. I take this to family get togethers as there are always older members of the family wanting to get a picture copied and this fixes the coloring making them better than the original. We also use this scanner for copying recipes from books to take into the kitchen since we don’t want to get the physical book dirty (we collect them). The on screen scanning instructions with pictures makes it easy to copy what we need. For my full time job I use the scanning features to scan to the desktop computer I use and also have to print physical copies of some of the documents for the files like receipts and ID’s so the ID copy feature comes in handy.
The printer itself has quite a few features I find handy detailed above along with some I didn’t touch on yet such as printing on discs, making coloring book pages, photo calendars, custom schedules and more. Pairing this printer with the app gives even more options. The probably biggest feature I haven’t touched on yet that makes a big difference for my side job/small business is being able to scan to cloud. I can pre-set a destination to my cloud storage and then choose scan to cloud on the printer to be able to send my file there as long as there is an internet connection. If I happen to take my printer on the go (it does happen since it is a nice size for travel), and there is no internet, I usually have a flash drive I can plug in to save my files to. The SD card slot is actually under the screen area to the left side of the printer and the usb spot for a flash drive is below that when you open the bottom tray where the paper goes.

This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8800 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. If you’re in the market for a printer that turns your everyday photos into stunning, lab-quality prints, look no further than the Epson printer! With a 6-color Claria Photo HD ink system, it produces beautiful borderless prints up to 8.5" x 11", making your memories pop. One of the standout features is the speed—this printer can whip out 4" x 6" borderless photos in as fast as 10 seconds! The detail is so impressive that you might start thinking you're a photography pro (don’t worry, I won’t tell). The user-friendly 4.3" color touchscreen is a game changer. With its Easy Mode, navigating settings is as easy as scrolling through social media. Plus, the separate trays for plain and photo paper, along with a rear feed for specialty paper, give you the flexibility to switch between printing homework and family photos without a hitch. For those of us who love wireless convenience, this printer has you covered. You can print from your laptop, smartphone, or tablet without a router thanks to Wi-Fi Direct. And if you need to scan or copy, the high-resolution flatbed scanner does the trick with remarkable clarity. The Epson Smart Panel app lets you control the printer from your smart device, and the Creative Print mobile app allows you to create custom cards and stationery—perfect for unleashing your inner artist. Plus, the red-eye removal and photo restoration tools help turn your "oops" moments into keepsakes. Just a quick note: stick with Epson Genuine Cartridges to avoid any warranty headaches.
In short, the Epson printer is a fantastic investment for anyone looking to elevate their photo printing game. It combines quality, speed, and creativity, all from the comfort of your home. Happy printing!

“This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8800 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.” As someone who values both functionality and ease of use, the Epson XP-8800 delivers a mixed bag of experiences. Setup: The setup process is remarkably user-friendly, especially with the iPhone app. It’s straightforward and intuitive, a big plus for those who aren’t tech-savvy. Screen and Interface: The printer sports a nice-sized screen that’s intuitive and easy to use, especially once you navigate out of “easy mode.” The interface is smooth and responsive. Ink Initiation: However, the ink initiation process is notably long. It takes around 10 minutes, which seems excessive and can test your patience. Ink Cartridges: The printer uses multiple ink cartridges, which could be a downside. Managing and replacing them can be cumbersome and may not appeal to everyone. Paper Tray: On the bright side, the bottom paper tray is a great feature, though the auto-feed mechanism is quite loud and can be distracting. Photo Paper: I was disappointed that no photo paper was supplied with the printer. Considering its capabilities, including some sample photo paper would have been a nice touch. Compact Footprint: Its compact footprint makes it a good fit for home offices or tight spaces, and the speed of printing is adequate for most needs. Scanner: The scanner function works well, though the lid feels a bit flimsy, which might affect long-term durability. Rear Paper Feed: The rear paper feed works efficiently and adds to the printer’s versatility. Overall Impression: Overall, the Epson XP-8800 is a solid all-in-one printer that meets a variety of needs, though it has its quirks. It’s a good option for those who need a reliable printer with a decent feature set, despite some minor inconveniences. In summary: Pros: • Easy Setup: User-friendly setup with the iPhone app. • Bottom Paper Tray: Convenient bottom paper tray. • Screen and Interface: Nice-sized screen that's intuitive and easy to use. • Compact Footprint: Space-saving design, ideal for home offices. • Printing Speed: Adequate printing speed for most needs. • Scanner Function: Effective scanning capability. • Rear Paper Feed: Efficient rear paper feed adds versatility. Cons: • Ink Initiation: 10-minute ink initiation process is too long. • Too Many Ink Cartridges: Managing multiple ink cartridges can be cumbersome. • Auto-Feed Noise: Auto-feed mechanism of the paper tray is loud and distracting. • No Photo Paper Included: Lack of supplied photo paper. • Flimsy Scanner Lid: Scanner lid feels a bit flimsy, impacting long-term durability.

This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8800 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. This is a great compact and high quality photo printer from Epson. The first thing that struck me was how great the LARGE touch screen is on the front of the printer. It's easy to configure and simple to use. The printer itself is pretty compact and has a sleek black color. After plugging it in I was up and running within a couple of minutes. The photo quality is excellent! When using with photo paper you get really high quality photos printed right in your own home. I also like that I can print wirelessly from any device in my home (ipad, iphone, laptops) and set it up anywhere in my house. The scanner on the top of the printer is extremely simple to use. It shows the scan on the screen which I had never seen before this printer! The copy functions are also excellent. Lastly, the ink is super easy to replace but after many different prints I still have a lot of ink left! I highly recommend this printer for families that want a versatile and easy to set up and use home photo printer. The Epson brand is one that you can trust and you know that you will get excellent prints. Lastly..it just works! (which is a lot to say about most printers!)

I have used this printer heavily since receiving it and am thoroughly pleased with its performance. It is quiet, has a relatively small footprint, and most importantly it produces quality prints.
You can print from your phone as easily as computer. I love that I am not bound to one location or computer for printing, with the wireless capabilities, I can print from anywhere in the house or porch.
I would definitely recommend checking this printer out when you are in the market for one.
