[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I got this Lego set my son was so excited because he helped me build it. The assembly was not hard but not impossible and it’s very fun to build. We spend 2 days assembling it and it was so much fun. The material that it’s made of it’s very durable . He displayed it in his room.

I’ll start with the minifigures, since they were the biggest reason I ended up buying this set. PIXAL is one of my favorite characters in the series, and I love the design for her, the dragonians, and all the other minifigures except Sora, who I’m disappointed to see reuse the torso and legs from her first iteration, instead of giving her a new suit to match the other ninja. As far as the main build goes, I would’ve liked it to be a bit more posable in the arms and legs, but given that the main draw of the set is the combiner function, I can see how that would be difficult to achieve while still making the side builds function/look good on their own. The set still looks fantastic whether you’re displaying it as the mech or as all the separate side builds, of which Zane’s new mini-mech form is my favorite. I’ll admit that I’m probably biased as Zane is also one of my favorite characters alongside PIXAL, but I’m impressed that the designers managed to make him look as good as he does for the smaller scale, and the posability is great as well. Overall, this set might not be for everyone, but I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s a fan of the show, although younger fans may prefer to keep the builds separate for more play potential.

An Amazing Ninjago Mech

Zane's Ultra Combiner Mech is, in my opinion, an incredible Ninjago mech! The fact that it can combine into a big mech, but also into 4 smaller builds is cool, even though it has been done before in Ninjago Core. I still think this build is amazing due to its impressive size and a relatively nice color scheme. I also liked how Lego split up the instructions into 3 parts, so the builder doesn't get overwhelmed. Riyu looks okay, and I can understand why Lego would give him bigger wings. Zane is a brick-built minifig, and looks great! The car has nice detailing (A samurai X symbol, nice gray tiles), but the underside is a bit incomplete. There is room for P.I.X.A.L to drive the car, and the other seat has a laser blaster. The airplane is cool, but requires the most work to put on the mech. Lastly, I loved how accurate to the show the mech was, I was impressed when I saw the mech in Season 3!

These transformer mechs always surprise me e whenever he builds one of these he always finds it challenging and he loves a good challenge he thinks the set is great because of the different ways you can play with it
