From Bag 1 you can feel how inflation has come to Lego. The technic support structure pieces are lighter, thinner, and flimsier. This is not the same Lego quality I have seen previous sets.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best UCS set to date

This is, without a doubt, my favorite UCS set that I have built to date.
This builds more like a modular building than a standard Star Wars ship. The build experience has everything you want in Lego. Lots of clever techniques, brick work, and fun details. The technic is kept at a minimum compared to most UCS sets. The result is absolutely stunning.
While there are some who complain about the price tag, I found a lot of value given the size and detail of the set. My only major complaint is the lack of minifigures. Behind the Mos Eisley Cantina scene, the sail barge scene has the second most fun cast of characters, and the Lego set consequently needs figures to round it out. While there are some great minifigures included, I would have liked a few more both to justify the cost and to round out the scene. I found myself gathering up additional figures from older sets to fill up my build on display. There are still more notable characters that haven't been made in minifig form, and not everyone has or has the ability to purchase old and often expensive figures.

Great set. My son and I spent about a week building this set together. A section at a time. It is really great. Love all of the mini figs that came with it as well.

great build bad quality control

Really fun build ! loved the interior and felt like the UCS AT-AT in a way.
had a poor experience with quality on this set unfortunately as my sticker sheet was folded in half and the canvas sails also folded in half causing a crease on both. Also got a bad angled tile that looks as though they didn't inject enough plastic into the mold.
Overall great set just expect wayyy more in terms of quality control for the price this is charged at.
I would recommend this to a friend!
