Very Good Overall, Minor Nitpicks

This set is great overall. The minifigures are excellent, and the ship looks good from most angles. This iteration is smaller than previous versions of the set, which is fine, although the nose should be a bit longer to be more correctly proportioned with the wings. The cannons are also oddly short but can be easily modified to be the correct length and add in the second smaller cannon. The base is also a bit too chunky in my opinion but slimming it down is another easy fix. The stickers look fine for the most part, but I wish the cockpit stickers were printed on, as the white doesn't match at all and looks very faded. Overall, the build is solid and fun, and the minor shortcomings and inaccuracies can be fixed with some quick modifications.

Poor Quality - Stickers

Overall, I am rather pleased with the build and design of this set. It may be a slightly downsized model, but I don't think the ship suffers from the downscaling in too drastic of a way. It is obvious that the cannons are too short, but I think it's fair to assume there may have been stability issues. Fortunately, this is an easy fix.
I wanted to acknowledge the positives first since I am leaving a negative review. The sticker quality is extremely poor on this set. I've been applying stickers for a long time and honestly have no problem with stickers in Lego sets. I understand the need for them and even enjoy placing them carefully. However, it seems like the sticker material has been changed compared to sets that came out in 2024.
These stickers were much thinner than normal and felt much more fragile while applying. The color on the stickers are also extremely transparent, speaking to their thinness. This causes problems with colors looking faded when placed on a brick of a different color (for example the white portion of the large sticker placed on the grey portion of the main wing is very faded). These were so thin a small amount of dust stuck to the back of what should be an opaque white sticker and was visible through the sticker when applied. Additionally, the white on the cockpit stickers was extremely pale which is not represented on the box art.
Stickers often add important details to sets and are generally seen, at best, as a necessary evil compared to printed pieces so, it seems like an odd choice to move to an option with much poorer quality. As Lego prices rise, it seems unacceptable that the sticker quality should suffer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overall pretty great! Great clone pilots, with NO HELMET WARTS! Arc 170 is a little small but still reasonable for the price! Locking S Foils into attack position function is amazing!

Tasteful remake with pronounced issues

The level of detail and scaling is amazing on this new ARC 170 but there are glaring issues with the stickers/prints. The stickers on the canopy's are inexcusable for a premium toy, what should be white prints look more like a dark grey when applied to the canopy piece. There is also a printed tile piece where the maroon print is actually just really dark red and is not even close to matching the rest of the maroon pieces on the set. Overall this is a fantastic remake but at it's price point the issues with the stickers/printing does not make me feel satisfied with the amount I paid for this set.
