While I understand the camera button on the iPhone is new, I do not like the cut out. It exposes too much of the edge of the iPhone which I would think would take away from the effectiveness when dropping your phone. The cutout also has a sharp edge that is uncomfortable when holding your phone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not like it used to be - camera button is terrible

I’ve used the Symmetry case for my iPhone Pro Max for years (11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and now 16). I’ve recommended them to everyone for being durable and just enough rubber sides to grip, but not be sticky. IYKYK. Just enough lip to protect the face when laying flat.
This year for the 16 something has changed. It’s way too slippery on the sides. Sturdy still, but too much hard plastic. The camera button cutout is BRUTAL as the edge is sharp, exactly where your thumb goes to hold the phone with your right hand. After a minute it feels like it’s cutting the skin. Plus it’s hard to use the camera button with the way the notch is designed. Bummer to go another direction and return this. Loved Otter in the past. Maybe they’ll redo the case.

The camera button cutout is awful. Large gap in the case, awkward to hold, too much of a design flaw that I had to return it. First time in many years my phone won’t be in an otterbox case.

Case seems cheap for the price you pay. It doesn’t really offer much protection and it’s a slippery in the hands case.

Sturdy case but the material is very slippery with nothing to help with grip. I’m not a fan of the camera button cutout. The edges of the case have some sharp spots, especially around the camera button cutout. I decided to go another route. Fit was good on the phone this just wasn’t the case for me.
