Incredible Flying Machine

It is amazing that Da Vinci built this in his time. To the Lego design team: loved the complexity, especially the wings. Definitely need to be over 18. A joy to build. Just a suggestion, I found it easier at times to take the plane off the stand to continue the build.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thanks for letting us know how much fun you had building the Leonardo da Vinci's Flying Machine. Thank you for your feedback on our building instructions, it will help us make improvements to our future sets!
As a lover of Da Vinci, this feels ripped from the pages of his sketch book and the functionality matches as well and adds to the experience. I hope this is the first of many Da Vinci inventions I'm able to build and display.
This is a great set for getting good photos and looks amazing just about anywhere ( other than the toilet ) it was fun to build even though it got confusing at times, it’s also bigger than you would think and can flap front and back wings, it is fun to fly around like an airplane.
Overall the build is very well executed and has some great features. The movement of the wings and reproduction of the original design is very well done. My 2 constructive criticisms are: 1- the trigger while being nicely done could use just a slight bit more to rest your thumb against on the back side, perhaps an angled brick to prevent your thumb from slipping off. 2. Davinci was left handed. The mini figure is shown in the instructions with the quill in his right hand.
I love the historical subject of this set. While da Vinci's flying machine might not have ever been airworthy, it's certainly beautiful. The build's intricacy culminates with a satisfying flapping motion that adds play value to a wonderful display piece. The cost of this set is definitely a bonus. I love its affordability.
I loved making this set and I think it has a great design. The moving wings and tail are a great touch with good mobility. The set was larger than expected which isn't necessarily a bad thing, just make sure you check the measurements so you dont have to adjust your shelves or anything. It's a great build to just look at and its currently displayed next to my Neuchwanstein castle, ship in a bottle, and fossil sets.
I had my eye on this set since it was announced. I found it to be a fun and interesting build, and was quite pleased with how the mechanics came together. It is a great desktop piece.
