Wheels Matter
on July 23, 2024

This is a really nice build. For those of you having trouble fitting the wheels it's important you fit the wheels correctly. The front and inner rear wheels need to have shallow sides facing out while the outer rear wheels need to have the deep sides facing out. This is easy to overlook in the instructions.

Made with Love or Logic?
on July 24, 2024

After 40 years of being the most iconic car in the world, Lego has finally created a giant model of the Lamborghini Countach. It couldn't have come at a better time, as Lego has utilized a variety of newer parts and some original pieces developed for just this set. With such resources, one would expect an absolute banger of a set but like the original Countach, there's always a few charms behind the grandeur.
Overall, it looks and feels like a Countach. It has the iconic scissor doors, the V12, steering wheel, etc. The proportions are generally great and there's some quite clever details around those iconic taillights. The side NACA duct is spot on. Lego may not have had the parts in the 1980s to pull this off but boy, do they use their modern parts library for this. And those bespoke OZ wheels. Nice!
However, there are moments that suggest a momentary lack of passion in an otherwise stellar build. The first and considered elephant in the room is that there are no pop up headlights. They did it for the F40 Creator set back in the day. Why not spend the time revising the front to do so here? There's plenty of ways to achieve it and some people are modifying their builds to do so. Secondly, the front bonnet is way too depressed compared to the front wheel arches on either side. And lastly, the famous Gandini arch over the back wheel is represented by a typical arch. These are some of the moments where one knows not every detail can be captured but some of them are what gave the Lamborghini Countach its passion in form.
As for the instruction book, it was logical and laid out but not quite as celebratory as the Speed Champion build. There were a few quotes here and there like the Technic UCS 1:8 builds but felt cold compared to the subject, and no final WOW! build is complete step either. Now the quote that the Countach was designed by Bertone is technically correct but most people in car culture attributed it to Gandini, who worked for Bertone but achieved worldwide fame for this and other car designs.
Now all of those faults are minor compared to what is actually delivered for the price. It's a giant Lego Countach, the stuff of dreams. It looks like a Countach and it's been a challenging MOC for anyone for the last forty years. Lego has produced an excellent example that will stun even perfectionists.

Amazing engineering
on August 6, 2024

The state of the art of Lego engineering never ceases to amaze me, and I've been building for almost 40 years.
Solid, stable build that looks amazing. The doors are SO satisfying to open and close. The rear wing is easy to knock off, but it was purely cosmetic on the real car too

I built the Lambo in a day and man does it look good! Goes perfectly on the shelf and the red interior really stands out with the wing doors pulled up. I highly recommend

Lamborghini countach

The build was fun up until towards the end because everything in the back is held in by 2 flimsy pieces so unless you are using glue while building it becomes a poor experience. The beginning was fun and finished result was good but on the last bag near the end was so bad.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for the feedback, and we're sorry this hasn't been a great experience for you. We don’t recommend applying glue to LEGO® bricks. We're always here to help when parts won't stay put! Feel free to give us a call or chat at LEGO.build/Service-BV so we can take a closer look.
