After year and a half it works sporadically

Bought this year and a half ago and it worked great for 18 months and now it works sporadically. Sometimes the computer recognizes it and other times it doesn't. I've downloaded the latest driver and it still works sporadically.

Works with Matebook D15!

I was very frustrated after spending several weeks and money trying to find a device to add a 3rd monitor to my Huawei Matebook D15. Long story short, I found out after buying another expensive adapter, that the Type-C port on my laptop doesn't transmit video signal (FML!!!).
I came across this StarTech adapter, but was hesitant at the beginning because I had never tried a video adapter that connects via USB, but at the end I decided to give it a try in order to exhaust any available options to accomplish what I needed.
Once I got it, I downloaded the latest driver from their website, followed the installation instructions, and upon restarting my computer and connecting the HDMI cable to the adapter, Voilà! I got video!
Although I couldn't use the 75Hz that my monitor supports, I felt happy to finally had found what I needed.
