(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Great mesh system. The mesh system reaches full speed with my bell 1.5gbps comfortably using backhaul and no issues with dropped connection so far. Have it for a month and it worked flawlessly without dropouts. However if you don’t have the money to spend. ASUS BT10 is good as well
In both cases after set up these unit have both crashed several times. Unfortunately too late to return. In one case crashed 4 times and it other 3 times Finally gave up in both cases and went back to my old router - NETGEAR Orbi 750 It has never crashed in over 5 years.
I bought this before Christmas and has some time to set it up. It seems like it has very powerful broadcast capabilities. I went against one of the main installation rules by placing the router in a bad position (by a concrete wall in the basement) and it still had enough power to cover most of the inside of my house.
With both nodes, it covered everything very well.
I like that there is no subscription for anything and it has all the latest capabilities. The wired back haul was great!
The only problem I had was of my own making. I decided to rename my WiFi SID and place my 'things' on a separate IoT network. Reconfiguring all the plugs, lights, etc. was a pain I don't want to do again!
I have about 80 IoT devices...it does not matter what configuration you use, what parameters you set up, this mesh system is horrible. Drops connections consistently and few of my IOT devices don't connect. I cannot believe Asus puts out this garbage. I have XT8 and XT9, this one is worst then those. What it is going with WIFI 7 mesh systems, seriously you want me to pay this amount of money for garbage. I should be able configure and connect one time and that is it......after all these years I have to give on Asus....maybe other manufactures are the same...you let me know.
