Turbotax is bad, and its desktop client is even wo

It wasn't good. Unclear what I was being charged for, and the desktop interface is horrendous and out of date. It probably worked great with Windows 95. Also, Turbotax only exists because they and other tax preparers lobby to keep the IRS from making taxes easier. It's a scam.

Turbo Tax Let Me Down

I have been a Turbo Tax customer for a long time. This year, I could not download a purchased copy of the program, because the new Turbo Tax software was not supported by my computer. When I finally got that problem worked out, and was ready to file my taxes, I was asked to purchase the program. I already had, and downloaded it on a new computer. To make matters worse, I could not e-file my return because Intuit said I did not use Turbo Tax in 2023. Yes, I did. So, I have to mail my returns. I can do that, but, there are a lot of forms, and no direction concerning which forms are for my records and which forms are supposed to be filed. Whaat happened to the user-friendly Turbo Tax I have used for 20 years?

The collection of all entries is disconnected and actual values are ambiguous. This leaves the taxpayer searching amongst forms or step-by-step to verify the data.

Domestic Partner Workflow in CA

The workflow is rather complicated when filing as domestic partners in the state of California. It would be nice if there was a guide to help you through it.
