Honestly worth the price so far in my experience. Have plenty of M.2 slots, although using one of the Gen 5 ones makes the PCIe go to x8 instead of x16, though I don't think that's necessarily the boards fault. BIOS update was extremely easy, "overclocking" the RAM sticks to their rated 6000 speeds was extremely easy as well. It has PLENTY of USB 2 connectors as well as USB 3 and C. Haven't had it very long, but so far so good. Stuck with ASUS since 2013 and haven't looked back.

I love this board. That said, Asus needs to improve their QC process. On My board, out of the box, the functional led isn't working, not a big deal, as it is just an led around the start button, but still. Also, the latest BIOS 0706 causes a major issue where the system would not Post with EXPO enabled, where 0606 works flawlessly. Overall the board is good but Asus needs more attention to detail. If one is paying that much for a motherboard it better be perfect.

Dear Pecone,
Thank you for your comment.
We do understand the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing issues after a BIOS flash. After a successful BIOS update, ensure optimize default was loaded in the BIOS setup page to configure all I/O devices properly to be able to make the new BIOS version works properly with your build. You may need to update Windows, drivers and the Armoury Crate utility software. Furthermore, reconfiguring your system settings may be necessary.
Should you need further assistance with the motherboard, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help. This motherboard has all the updated technical offerings. BUT, after hours of uninstall devices and reinstall the audio files, without success, I am using a Soundblaster to get audio. Frustrating.

The top most piped M.2 heatsink is way too big and does not support most AIO's. There should be lower profile ones that come in the box.

If you are experiencing system stability issues with your build. System crash or corruption in the System registry can either a hardware or software related issue. With the hardware, this can be a RAM, Hardrive, CPU and the motherboard itself. If the error codes are pointing to a RAM issue, we recommend that you try another known good RAM that meets system requirements of the motherboard. We recommend that you do a test on the hardrive, also. In regards to a software issue, please ensure Windows was installed fresh from scratch with all updates installed, chipset and video drivers up to date and latest version or patch file for the games are installed.
