This weekend the auger malfunction and caused a back burn into the hopper catching the whole smoker on fire…Destroyed the smoker

Smoke or fire to the back of the hopper can be caused by either compromised fuel or a lack of airflow through out the unit. Smoker temperature off by 90Deg

The purpose of an automatic smoker is to maintain temperature. This smoker does that, just at the wrong temperature. Controller indicates 230 deg but several oven thermometers all read considereably less. Had to set the smokr to 300 degF to get the actual temp to 225. Be very very careful when using this as it can cause your food to be undercooked and lead to food born illness.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Updates and app ruined my smoker!

I’ve had my pit boss pro series for a couple years now and up until several months ago it was great. When the new app came out and I switched to it along with updating my smoker it will now only set temperature ranges in 50 degree increments where it use to set in 10 degree increments! From complaints I’ve read the only way to fix this is by purchasing a new control board which is utterly ridiculous! Extremely dissatisfied!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
