It works but could be better.

My biggest complaint is that there is nothing to hold the racks in when you pull them out. My old smoker captured the racks on the top and bottom, so you could pull them almost all the way out without them toppling to the ground along with your food. Pull these a little way out with some food on them and you better be prepared to catch that food, otherwise you're going to have to wash it off or chuck it. Every smoker I've had up to this one has had the racks captured. Pit Boss really dropped the ball on this one. The next complaint is the water tray. Why is it so small? Holds a gallon but with the suface area that gallon goes pretty quick at higher temps. It's also kind of a PITA to add to it while you're cooking. Otherwise I really like it. Need to get a new controller for it since my dog ripped the temperature probe out it and it's been janky ever since.

820 sportsman grill smoker. I bought this to replace my vertical one it doesn't hold temp as good as the other one did 15-20 degree swings in temp

I've only been using it for 9 months, but really like this smoker. It holds temp well. I haven't used the app, don't have a need for the app. Would have given 5 stars, but it only came with 1 probe thermometer and has outlets for 2. I thought that was a little bit chicken.

This is a great smoker. I’ve made Black Forest Bacon, Corned Beef, Pastrami, Spare Ribs, best ever Smoked Chicken ~ everything! The spent pellets produce very little ash. Clean up is quick and easy. My old electric smoker produced much more smoke flavor, but it was almost impossible to maintain any given temperature. The pellets provide a ton of smoke at the lowest setting of 130º, but once it hits 225º there is very little smoke, and the final result is a very subtle smoke flavor. The perfect solution is to buy a smoke tube and fill it with pellets. Get it going and put it in the smoker. You’ll have all the smoke you could want. I recommend also buying a second probe. The first one is for the internal temp of the meat. The second one monitors the temp in the box. The app works well, so I can adjust the temperature without having to go out to the smoker. One star deducted for 2 things: only one probe, when there are 2 probe connections ~ and the temperature can only be adjusted in 10 degree increments. 5º would be perfect. Stlll, I highly recommend this smoker.

So far, I love it ! I like the size, you can smoke much more in this big boy then I can in my Masterbuilt electric smoker. So far, very easy to use.
