This year, I was disappointed in how the application operated when certain selections were made. For instance, the selection to exclude part or all of a capital gain distribution (classified as small business) reported on the 1099-DIV was odd. Selecting the button and entering the excludable amount in the interview and on schedule D as instructed did not reduce the taxes owed as one would expect. Similarly, charitable contributions on the MA state return seemed to raise the tax amount. Although it may compute the tax properly, this behavior leaves the taxpayer wondering if he or she is getting the benefits (deductions and credits) promised. Also, still cannot import from Wells Fargo Advisors. Finally my software malfunctioned during the latter stage of entry by simultaneously opening 15 or more iterations of my tax return! I saved on the first prompt and did not save on the next few prompts until I decided to invoke the task manager to close the program. Fortunately, my next session appeared to have my most recent entries.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My fourth year of using this software. I find it makes my preparing my taxes a manageable task, and saves me from having to use a paid preparer. For the last two years though, e-filing my state return was not offered.

This was similar to previous versions that I have been using for years. I had never had a return rejected before, and this is where the program shines. You get an error report and what to do, step by step, to correct the problem or problems. You never know when to purchase the product as the price fluctuates all season, every year. Sometimes the price goes down as we near April 15, this year it stayed up.
