I had to pay to file an extension. It's hardly what I consider to be a "free filing". Deceptive.

It is good for most things. I wish it would support publicly traded partnerships better. I also find the new questions relating to required minimum distribution confusing.

Program is good and easy to use.

I have used your software for years and have always rated it as 5 stars. Sorry to say but you only get 4 this year. I attempted to e-file an extension and followed all the prompts correctly. However, when I transmitted the e-file much to my surprise the program actually filed the return and the IRS accepted it. Now I am faced with filing an amendment because the current filing is missing a K1, the reason for the extension. Now if the amendment software is as easy (never had to use it) as your regular program I'll change my rating. I used your chat room and worked with Rudi and he was outstanding.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Mostly good but bad ESPP stock sale instructions

Instructions for reporting an ESPP stock sale when the purchase was discounted were very unclear and chasing with your agents did not help. Two different ones had no clue. Everything else was good.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Hard to prepare

Have used the Deluxe + State program for over 10 years. No problems encountered. Easy to use (not withstanding the IRS complexities). For 2024 I used the electronic filing option for both federal and state. Made both filing and paying (bank transfer) easy. Nice setup for bank transfer.
