1099-B FreeTaxUSA does it better for grouping report, it supports Box A to E input as reported by institution, it also asks for wash-sale amount.

I have used H&R Block tax software for several years. I have been happy with it (obviously, or I would not have been a repeat user). It is fairly intuitive to use. I love the review of the form for likelihood of audit and completeness.

I think there is an error in the calculations regarding Income Subtractions. The HRB software does not agree with the DRS calculator.
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

I've been using H&R Block tax program for years. It was easy to learn the first time and it has been easy ever since even when my financial situations change. I tried to help my friend with her taxes and she uses a different program and it was very difficult.

Very bad experience this year

I completed my return on March 17 and when I tried file it I got a message that I had not activated the download. I called twice for help. The first person told me I had to delete the program I had and install a new one but she couldn't tell me how to delete my program because I use a mac and she used windows. About a week later my son came to my home and spoke with a second person who was VERY helpful and after about half an hour I was able to file the return. I am in my 80s and not techie. My son is very techie and he thought that downloading the program was old fashioned and a poor way of getting the return filed. Last year I had to spend 6 hours waiting to file my grandchildren's returns because Block's system wasn't working. I will probably try Turbo Tax next year even though I worked for Block for 46 years and have used the online program in the 6 years since I retired.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Help turn out to be more of a marketing feature than anything useful. Didn’t carry a very simple state form so I had to let PA calculate if I have an underpayment penalty in order to be allowed to pay you to efile state.
