The product is very helpful for identifying scenarios required for person tax situations. I've been using HR Block for at least 15 years. For the third year in a row the Mac version doesn't actually update via the built in update utility. This requires manually downloading the updates from the website and installing them as they are released. And for the second year in a row the licensing key generated, as part of the annual auto-renewal, doesn't actually activate the state portion which requires reaching out to support to have it fixed. I had one annoying issue where it asked me to validate REIT business deductions (I don't have a business nor have I explicitly invested in any real estate) but the tool and website couldn't really tell me which section those numbers came from. Turns out it was two numbers combined from two different 1099-DIVs that was labeled with another name. Help articles on these weird correlations would be helpful.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming

I have been using H&R Block Deluxe edition tax preparation software for over 10 years now.What's not to like? It's cheaper than having an accountant do them. Granted my situation is fairly simple. Income, interest, dividends and capital gains, investments. I bet most people could use this same software ad save a few bucks. Besides i learn from doing my own taxes. I used to do them by hand, so this makes it much easier and filing is a snap. Paying taxes is painful but with H&R Block at least completing and filing them isn't.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

When you want to varify the numbers and hit the jump to feature many do not help. Printing function was annoying and would go back to default always want duplex printing. Would not print miniworksheet correctly especially for cap gain taxes
