I have been using HRB tax software for many years, with very satisfactory results. I recently switched from Windows to Mac, and the HRB software does not update on Mac as it should. When presented with the notification that a software update is available, and the 'Continue' button is clicked, the program goes into 'cleanup' mode and the update is not applied, then the 'Update' notification is presented again. This becomes an endless loop until the 'Cancel' button is selected. The only way I could get the update to occur was to reboot my Mac, then launch HRB. At this point the software update would occur normally. The HRB Michigan program has two flaws: 1) In the interview for the Michigan Property Tax Credit, there is no warning or caution given when the filer can be claimed as a dependent on someone else's return, and the other party's household income is not included in the figuring of the credit. This has caused a family member to file an incorrect tax return. 2) When there has been a tax underpayment, the interview presents five possible options for the underpayment penalty to be waived. One of these options is that the underpayment will be paid by March 31. This option does not exist in Michigan, so doing so does not avoid the penalty. Having this option presented in the interview causes much confusion.

Software worked great as usual! I’ve been using HRB for over 10 Years! A CB little disappointed that no makings for current software was mailed or emailed to me this year nor any discount offered for prior customers. ☹️
