I am a long time of H&R Block Deluxe Software and has always done a good job of doing my taxes. The program fills in all of last year's 1099 which helps you not forget one of them and if not needed it is easily deleted.

ACCURACY CHECK AT THE COMPLETION OF THE RETURN

I have used this deluxe version for several years and is good, but i was disappointed with this years, when it came to the final review of the "accuracy" of the return. I went to fix a few items mentioned and found no matter how i complied and filled the items noted, they wouldn't go away and were back once again. I finally gave up and filled with the items open. I even got a warning that i might get flagged for trying to take the earned income credit, when i was doing no such thing. I was submitting a "home energy credit" and checked the 5695 form and verified i did it right.

Cons: Time consuming

Adequate federal software, disappointing Montana

Federal instructions difficult to follow at times, especially estimated tax penalty. Otherwise, Federal return completion was acceptable. Montana income tax instructions and lack of forms was disappointing. The state tax portion is poor.
