not clear instructions for ira distributions

Regarding the my IRA distribution, it first appeared on line 16b along with my retirement income. I had to go to the form itself and click on the IRA distribution for it to appear on line 15b. I realized this when the amount in 16b was much greater than last year. (there was a comment under the Income section that you would ask for IRA later, but nothing appeared.) I assume there was a change in your program from last year

Great but needs some changes

Easy to use but not enough entries for donations. Had to double up a few. Wasn't real clear if the yellow caution errors need any change - i.e. add 0 in an empty box.
Cons: Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund

Gone Downhill In Last 5 Years

Initial installation created a mystery icon called "debug". Afraid to delete this, but it looks ugly. Final update made mytax file disappear. I found it in a subdirectory that theoretically does not exist: My Documents/Music. No problems in previous 4 years.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to fix issues
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast

Dificlt to use some features

I tried to send in a tax return for the first time using my Federal Activation code only to tell me they were all used. This was the first one how can they all have been used?
Also difficult to save a file on a CD?DVD drive.
Cons: Hard to fix issues

Gets The Job Done, with Some Annoying Quirks

As always, H&R Block covered what I needed to get the job done accurately, filled out all the forms, did all the calculations, and helped me clearly file electronically and with paper. Some minor annoyances: The sale of my home it asked all these questions when most could have been avoided based on initial calculations of the "simple" basis and the sale price without entering all the other items that added to the basis. A $500,000 profit is pretty hard to pull off on the sale of a home, even before adding the cost of improvements. The state and the federal wanted secondary ID's to prevent fraud - I had to enter this twice for spouse and self. It should have been copied from the first time. State wanted copy of Federal attached. The software new this but finding the path back to do this isn't clear or correct in the State Filing Check List instructions. It also asks if you want to e-file your state, then proceeded to instantly tell me I couldn't do it and why. It should have just went there to begin with.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import, Fast

I always use H&R Block for my taxes. It is easy and corrects you if you are about to make a mistake. And at the end it will show you your mistakes and allow you to correct them. Great Product.

Great software and have been using for 10 yrs in a row. It has come a long way but the software has gotten way better with easy steps to file your 2016 tax.
