It does the job perfectly

I've been using the Block software for about 5 years now. and it's hard to imagine how it could work any better. It almost makes an odious job fun. The IRS must like it too, because they literally accept my electronically filed returns (a great convenience) in seconds.
Pros: Easy to prepare
I would recommend this to a friend!

Have used for over a decade and have seen my deductions slowly disappear. If all I am going to get you are no longer worth the money

Software works well and is easy to follow. The only issue over the years is that we have short form data but still comes on with the long form. Seem to be a ton of updates which is probably not a Block problem.wor

The Federal Tax package was great... The NC State tax program, not so great. The NC interviewing process is lacking... The SW presents you with a bunch of fields and your expected to understand the NC Tax Law and enter them in correctly... A a part-time (two state) resident, my situation was certainly more complex and was expecting the SW to guide me. I have been using HR Block's Tax SW package for decades and have been fully satisfied... It's just this year that was less than 5 stars.

Verified Purchase:Yes
It worked, but won't handle section 199 Reit Dividends on form K-1, box 14, code I. It goes on line 6 of form 8995. If you override the program. you can't file electronically. FYI, Turbo Tax has no problem with this.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overall excellent - two exceptions - I tried to import the 1099-B from Moomoo Financial and Axos Clearing LLC and neither were in the list. I had to manually enter the information. Next year I will be considering transitioning my tax information to Turbo Tax as they can import both.
