I like the product. The Efile is very useful. I wish I had known that part of efiling service included making your payment. Since I didnt know that prior to efiling I went to the IRS site to make payment.

The tax program worked great, although I was filing married filing separate. The program wanted some additonal information before I could efile, but did not indicate what information was needed. I finally figured what was needed but highlighting the box that needed the information would have been helpful.

Easy to use, could use improvement for QCDs

I have used H & R Block Software to file my taxes for many years. I find it quite easy to use, but hit a snag when I was entering my 1099-R info. I turned 70-1/2 in 2024 so I was eligible to start making charitable contributions from my traditional IRA. I was glad that I was aware that some of my IRA withdrawal was not subject to taxation, because on my first pass through, I did not see the reduction based on the Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). It did not help that the government does not break that amount out on the 1099-R. I spent a fair bit of time finding out how to enter the QCD amount (finally editing the 1099-R to enter the QCD). It was far from obvious on how to do that. My brother had the same issue. This is definitely an area that could be improved, It would be very easy to overlook this reduction in taxable income.
Pros: Easy to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

Buying this product was confusing, please make clear what you are buying, program download vs access to your online program. I wanted the download but first time trying I was led to the online. I am disappointed with the program from the size of what is visible, especially scroll bars to the lack of ease in moving around in the forms.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
