stop point when wanting to file extension

First overpriced. Slowly goes down in price. Typical marketing ploy. Wanted to file an extension. Nowhere in the process did it show that my extension was converted to a filing. If I am audited or have any issues with any unpaid taxes I will be sure to contact hr block to make things right. How can you put a stop point to make sure we know what we are processing or is an extension or filing? Why did it change from an extension to a filing? How can you avoid this from happening in the future?
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

Not for Individuals living on Social Security

This software I paid for months ago was fine at first. I waited till updates were all in . before finalizing. The only income I have is SSA1099. Paid in no tax and according to calculations I do not owe ANY taxes. Software will not let me e-file now at the eleventh hour. This is truly sad. Will explain to IRS tomorrow. Thanks H&R Block

We began using the H&R Block Tax Software way back in 2001, when it was called TaxCut. Used it every year since, and will continue until we no longer have to pay taxes...!!!!
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

Good, but needs tweaking

Still lots of geek-speak here. Instead of assuming that i understand what a technical term means, you should inject two or three questions to break it down into a more understandable way. insteadof "check your form for further instructions on how to enter this", you should have (for example)
1) did you have ......?
2) was that .....?, but don’t include ___.
3) on line 7, you entered___, this contradicts what you entered on an earlier form. Answer these few questions so we know how to properly fill out the form. Maybe they should make a "Tax Prep for Dummies" lol.

Another year of Windows 10 issues with updates

First, this is the 2nd year I have had major problems with federal and state updates not installing and throwing error messages in Windows 10; I have been using the software for 15 years (2003). It was also difficult to track down a phone number on the website to obtain actual tech support. The data imported by the PDF import function required a manual clean up of data boxes in various forms. The planning section for estimating next year's tax liability and creating an updated W-4 is lacking in detail or definitions of the some of the asked-for data in the user interface. For example, what exactly is included in "other payroll deductions"? Opening the withholding worksheet and examining line 57 gave a better idea, but even that is was somewhat vague. Also, the HR Block withholding worksheet does not take into account elective deferrals or employer sponsored health coverage which can radically change the taxable amount and result in someone having way too much withholding.
