Got good deal on computer but the screen brightness is problematic. My old computer screen on last two laptops was way better than this as screen is dark and sometimes goes even darker and I've done the suggested steps to remedy. It is workable at full brightness but there is very little adjustment . The first adjustment down is like in dark mode for example.
The HP Pavilion Laptop 16t-af000 is fast- both SSD speed and wifi interface. I also like the lighted keyboard. The downside is the touchpad. Left clicking on the touchpad is often a "hit or miss" proposition. While most of the time the clicking works properly, more often than I like, the click doesn't register with the laptop and I have to initiate multiple clicks to get the desired result. I've had several sessions with HP support to try to fix the problem. During the latest session with them, the tech uninstalled the touchpad driver and reinstalled it. While it has improved the clicking response, it still gets hung up on occasion and I have to click two or three times to initiate an action. Hopefully this is a software issue that will get fixed with a future update
Lightweight, quiet fan, good storage but not much else. 1. HP has managed to downgrade this line's keyboard so badly - I bought a Pavilion in 2019 that had the best keyboard, not this new clunky mess that makes typing really quite difficult. They also had the idea to put the power button next to a delete button? Yeah, nothing could go wrong there. 2. The bloatware from HP has gotten worse. HP forced the laptop to install some HP Omni overlay for gaming (I'm not a gamer - dont force me to install gaming things) which nearly broke my laptop 3 days after purchasing because the update was horribly bugging. Not just a me problem as this is mentioned on HP forums as well. 3. Doesn't really standout in any way. But it feels more like a budget laptop than a mid tier laptop.
I love my laptop so far. I customized it and everything came perfect. I got the blue color and it looks better in person. So happy with the whole experience.
