Works fine but you have to keep your phone pretty close in order for it to work.

Hello and thanks for commenting on the MEATER Pro. Although the charger should be kept as close as possible to the probe, the range between the charger and your cellphone can be over 200’ with a straight line of sight. However, this can be affected by walls and doors, but you should still have a decent connection as long as the obstructions are not excessive. While you can substantially extend your range by using a secondary smart device along with your WiFi through the MEATER Link feature, there are resources available that can help with the Bluetooth connection directly to your phone at support.meater.com. In addition to a Support Wizard, there's also contact information for MEATER Customer Service for getting assistance with any concerns that you have with your MEATER Pro.

The connection range is much shorter than advertised. I done two cooks know and get frequents signal drops at 20 feet or less.

Thanks for taking the time to fill out a response, we appreciate your feedback. While the range from probe to charger is up to 33ft and from charger to smart device is up to 250ft, these results are based on open-air tests performed in our products. Open air means there are no obstacles such as walls obstructing the Bluetooth signal. MEATER's customer support can help you to perform a Range Test if still having issues, get in touch with them by visiting the link support.meater.com/contact-us.

I bought this a year ago but only used it 3 times. Now it will not hold connection, If I get a connection at all. Works good between the base and my phone but I can't get a fully charged probe to connect. Piece of junk. you should not buy it !!!

Hello, and thank you for your feedback on the MEATER Pro. Based on your comments, it appears that you have a good understanding of how the MEATER Pro works, and are already making sure to keep the base unit as close to the probe as possible. With this not being a factor, there are a few other things that we can consider when trying to determine what’s preventing a stable pairing between the two. Assuming that the charging process is not being affected by residue on either the charging (flat) end of the probe, or the contact point on the charger, we should do a quick test to verify the range without anything else being between them. This can be done by setting the probes down, then slowly walking away from them, with both the charger and phone in hand and watching for the probes to disconnect on the app. This distance should be in the area of 30’ (10 M). If it is, we can look at other possible causes for the connection limitations, which can even be as simply as covering the probes with aluminum foil or using them in a cooking appliance with very thick walls/insulation. However, if the probes are disconnecting much closer than the expected range, or even if you would like some help with the test, please visit support.meater.com/contact-us and reach out to MEATER Support for assistance.

Used this for the first time yesterday for Christmas dinner. This couldn't have made it any easier and the cook came out perfect. Even tells you when to take it out and how long to rest for.
