Dual purpose, but low in SPF protection

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This daily defense sunscreen from Duke Cannon is a dual sunscreen and face lotion that helps moisturize your skin and keeps it hydrated while protecting it from the harmful effects of the UV rays from the sun. I had to reapply this only once during the day when I was out for about 5 hours. It performed well and kept my skin from burning or tanning.

High end product

I think because it’s branded for men, we really get a better deal. 100 percent works, feels great on the skin and most importantly protects against harmful UV rays. Will definitely be buying more of this. 5 stars!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a bottle of Duke Cannon Daily Defense Face Lotion with Broad Spectrum SPF 32 courtesy of Influenster. I'll have to say that I wasn't too impressed. I honestly had high hopes, as I love testing new sunscreens/face lotion, but this product was not it. I'll be honest, I also had not heard of Duke Cannon prior to this sample. The box is bright orange. Not super aesthetic but easy to remember and not miss. The bottle itself is like any other lotion bottle. Simple and easy to open and use with it's fliptop. The bottle itself didn't seem to be full. Missing a least a good inch or so from the top (can somewhat see through the bottle. Seems that the product advertises itself to be a face lotion with mineral sunscreen. Built to hydrate and defend against sun damage. It is also advertised as non greasy and lightweight. I do really like that they make it a point to let you know a portion of proceeds benefits U.S. veterans. The product is also advertised as fast-absorbing, for all skin types and able to be used every day. Ingredients seem pretty normal for the most part. Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice being the first ingredient. Upon application, the product goes on easily for the most part. It's not too thick but not too liquidy. It does come out quick from the bottle. Otherwise, I would say it's pretty similar to any other sunscreen. It didn't leave any residue or white streaks or feel too heavy. However, ít did feel greasy. The greasy-ness after application on my hands didn't go away even after 10-15 minutes until I washed and wiped my hands. That I did not like. After about 2-3 hours in the sun, I did come back and notice my skin drier than normal and a little flaky. Not sure if the product was able to protect my skin from getting sunburnt. I also noticed that my face was a little irritated and I had some spots that felt like I was beginning to break out. I didn't have any issues prior to using the product. The lotion does advertise as having a subtle invigorating citrus scent - that is true. Very subtle. Somewhat citrus. An artificial citrus smell. Not too strong. Pretty weak. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing yet. At least it doesn't smell like sunscreen. Overall, the product was ok. I am not impressed. Is it a good lotion/sunscreen? Not sure. Maybe I'll need to continue to use it and see. Would I recommend to friends and family? Probably not. I don't think I would seek out this product myself to use. Overall - would probably work in a pinch or just to have a as backup or thrown in a bag. I'm not sure if this would make a good daily go-to face lotion/mineral sunscreen. Will continue to use and update as needed.

Great Face Lotion!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I very much enjoyed using the Duke Cannon Daily Defense Face Lotion. I have a darker skin tone and I this was able to rub this lotion into my face without seeing an overwhelming white cast. I also enjoyed the very light scent of the lotion.

A face lotion for the outdoors

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Duke Cannon seems to aspire to create hard work products for hard working men, and this face lotion fits that agenda. The lotion is easy to apply with only a light scent. The SPF rating and the fact that it is a mineral sunscreen promise longer and more robust sun protection compared to many chemical sunscreen face lotions. The downside to a mineral sunscreen is that it does leave a light film, but that cannot be avoided. I am glad to have a face product that is intended for those who spend more time outside.

Great face lotion but not perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The face lotion itself is very nice and the added spf is a nice daily protection against UV while it does have the same feel as a sunscreen it has a more hydrating effect. The feel of the lotion through the day is a little bit sunscreen-esque but it feels good nonetheless. After trialing this product I still think I will stick to Cera Ve on days I’m not going to be outside very much.
