Great Unit, Cable Could Be Longer

This is a great unit with a great design. My biggest wish would be for this to be offered with a longer cable 16 feet just isn't long enough. Aside from that it works perfectly!

Great to have a meter right on the charger...

I have the V-box 'regular' the non pro type, with the current meter display on the charger and always use that feature... It is nice to have a meter on the charger itself, so you can simply see that the car is charging at a full level, as you walk away... Love that!

After weeks of research, I decided on the Lectron home j1772 V-box Wifi unit, and for the most part, I'm very impressed. Here’s my breakdown after installing and using it for a few weeks.
What I Love (The Pros):
· Premium Build Quality: This thing feels solid. The housing is a thick, matte plastic with a nice metallic finish. It's compact and looks great on my wall.
· Metal Latch is a Game-Changer: This was the feature that sold me. The charging handle has a real metal latch, not the flimsy plastic kind that breaks after a year. It feels incredibly durable and was a major reason for my purchase.
· Excellent Safety Features: It has a physical shut-off switch on the side, which is a great safety touch for peace of mind. The cable is also very thick, which I see as a sign of good insulation and safety, even if it's a little less flexible.
· Easy Installation & Flexibility: It comes ready to use with a NEMA 14-50 plug, but you can also easily convert it to a hardwired setup for faster charging speeds (up to 48A). The mounting plate and included J-hook for cable management make installation simple.
· Fantastic, No-Fuss App: The app setup was straightforward—it uses Bluetooth and didn't require any complicated manual digging. The app lets me schedule charging for off-peak hours, track my energy usage over time, and adjust the charging current. I also get live feedback on voltage and can even see the unit's internal temperature.

· Cable Length is Too Short: This is my biggest complaint. The cable is only 16 feet long, which is shorter than the standard for many competitors. Depending on your garage setup and where you park, this could be a significant limitation.
· Cable is Stiff: The thick, high-quality cable is a double-edged sword. It's great for safety but can be a bit difficult to coil and manage, especially in colder weather.
· No Power-Sharing: Unlike some premium competitors (like Tesla), this unit cannot power-share with a second Lectron charger on the same circuit. This isn't an issue for me now, but it might be for someone planning a multi-charger setup.

I love the unit but I was disappointed when I found out that the charging cable was not long enough for my situation and no option for a longer extension cable

Great charger and easy to install. Build quality feels nice and app is easy to set up. Hardwired it for 48amps but for the sake of my battery I’m just utilizing it at 32amps for my Ioniq 5.

The light indicators let you know the status. Connector and cable are good quality and are very simple to manage. Unobtrusive, looks good and does not take up much wall real estate in my garage.
