THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!

We live at the foot of two big hills. As we got older the hills became more challenging. Then my wife decided after a lot of research, to purchase a Velotric Discover 1. She’s been riding it to work, and has taken some short trips around town. She would ask me to come on my bike, but I would decline. Then I was offered a discount on a Discover 1. Now we ride together! I rarely go above 2 on the pedal assist. I started riding bikes in the 1950s in Claremont CA, so it was cool to see that the bikes were shipped from Pomona, the next town!

I got the Discover 1 model and it is so comfortable to ride, the seat is very cushy and easy to adjust and the handlebars are in a good position. It is easy to change gears/speed while riding. You can easily tell when it needs to be recharged. I love the cyan color. I highly recommend this model!

So far so good, but I’m still getting used to the ride. At 72 and coming off hip replacement surgery I found I needed some assist with the hilly terrain where I live and hoping my new e-bike will fill the bill. One issue I have found however, when on the rare occasions I need to walk the bike, 3.7 mph in walk mode is much too fast. In viewing a video of an earlier model of the Discovery 1, it seems the walk mode previously was more like 2.5 mph, which would make a lot more sense. Other than not utilizing walk mode, I am enjoying the ride.

Great bikes

We love both of the Discover 1 bikes they are great. The paint finish is worry some as it appears that it is not a durable finish. A snap brush with my Apple Watch and it chipped right away. Should not be that easy. Also the chain guard is deformed out of shape which I am currently working to resolve. Added better seats for better comfort...but that is a preference choice.

For someone who lives in the city with kids, this is the PERFECT way to go to the grocery store without loading kids in and out of car seats. This bike gets to the store so fast and I never have to worry about the bike battery dying. If there’s anything I would buy over and over again it would be this bike. Literally the BEST thing I have ever spent money on! Thanks Velotric!

Very comfortable and well put together. The assist levelsWork very well with the gearing and the range is great. First ride I rode 25mi. And the battery only dropped 1 bar.
