Perfect for my needs

I purchased the cube to reduce the size of the camera bag I'm using, for travel. It easily fits my camera, lens, and miscellaneous items I need when I travel. The cube easily fits in my backpack and now I have one less carry on when I travel (but I have a very heavy backpack!)

Better and worse then V1

I really like the way the V2 opens, the whole top actually opening up. However, the dimensions are different than the v1 and I can't fit the same items. For the Large, v1 has horizontal main dividers and is tall enough for some of my lenses and bodies to fit upright, while in the v2 the main dividers are vertical and the overall height is just enough shorter that items need to be laid down. If you aren't coming from a v1 and hoping to just get a more convenient, less constricting main zipper opening with the same storage you will be disappointed, but if you are getting your first camera cube, the V2 large is nice.

Perfect addition to Peak Design ecosystem

Bought it ahead of my trip to Iceland to use together with 30L Travel Backpack. It worked very well! I could fit 1 camera (Sony A7) + 3 various lenses + filters and few smaller items, and I had left some space in the backpack. Easy to lock it inside the backpack, and I had no issues using it during my trip. Looking forward for more travels with this Camera Cube

OK according to specifications and my expectations. Good perceived quality. Maybe some sort of handle may come in handy.

Thoughtfully designed and very well made. Like all their gear. I ordered a few different sizes to see what worked best for my load out.

Shooting Out of the Duffel

Using the Large Peak Design Camera Cube v2 inside the Travel Duffel 35L creates the ultimate self-contained mobile workstation. Because the Large cube takes up the entire main compartment of the 35L Duffel, it essentially transforms the bag into a dedicated, heavy-duty camera case.My workflow involves dropping the duffel on a table or the floor and shooting right out of it. The combination of the duffel’s wide top hatch and the v2 cube’s expanded, fold-away zipper lid means I get total, unhindered access to my gear without the bag collapsing on itself. The massive capacity of the Large size easily handles the wide-bodied Nikon Z8 and a heavy rotation of pro S-Line glass. It safely swallows the Z8 attached to a 24-70mm f/2.8 S or 14-24mm f/2.8 S, alongside the massive 85mm f/1.2 S, the MC 105mm f/2.8 Macro, and the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S. Even the giant 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR can be laid across the layout when configured properly. For Z8 shooters who need a rugged, fast-access floor-or-table workspace on location, this Large cube and 35L Duffel combo is flawless.

Do not recommend the Large V2 Camera Cube.
on June 22, 2026

Now just to clarify. The V2 camera cube has substantially better build quality and the rigidity I’ve been craving compared to the V1 version. The biggest issue is that the supplied dividers are not the same length or have the variety as the V1. I simply cannot recreate the same design or even remotely similar to make everything fit as before. I mean I’m not even close. I can confidently say I can fit 40% less stuff in the v2 compared to the v1. Before you voice your criticism, I’ve been sitting on the floor for hours trying reconfigure a new design and it simply just doesn’t work. The difference is that the v1 gave you 4 Large dividers and the v2 gives you 2 XL and many pockets. I also don’t want to purchase more stuff and even if I wanted to, I can’t because it’s out of stock. I will be returning the v2 !
