Worth Every Penny

Wanted to replace my old Domke camera backpack and had heard good things about Peak Design. I have been using the company's packing cubes and was impressed. Keep in mind that I cut my teeth on Domke bags and in my mind, they are the bench mark for camera bags. They just really haven't excelled with camera backpacks.
Peak Design has built a solid reputation for quality backpacks and the camera cubes looked interesting. So I decided to give the 18L Outdoor pack and SMedium camera cube a try.
I've only had the pack for a day and have to say I'm impressed. I've traded in my Canon 300mm f2.8 years ago for a 100-500mm (my main lens) and took a chance that the SMedium would accommodate it. I can easily fit the 100-500mm, 24-105mm, 24mm, 1.4x converter and the Canon R6 MKII in the SMedium. It slides nicely inside the 18L pack with room for a tech bag that will carry my spare batteries, charger and memory cards.
The front pockets carry a camera cover (should it rain) and a cleaning cloth. The side pouches sport my water bottle and monopod (tripod is a bit too heavy).
All in all the Peak Design camera cube is well made, offers plenty of protection and matches up nicely with the Outdoor pack. Would highly recommend it.

A storage solution with many options

I wanted a rolling bag to protect my gear, yes, another roll aboard bag to add to the many that I already had. What if I could convert and repurpose an existing roll aboard? Wouldn't that be perfect? Searching online I came across the CAMERA CUBE V2 from Peak Design in the XL size. Going through the various roll aboards that I already had, the TUMI ALPHA 3 was a perfect match. The CAMERA CUBE V2 - XL fits the TUMI with about 1/2" of room to spare and if I wish, could add additional padding to firmly secure it within the case.
The features of the CAMERA CUBE V2, give me a lot of freedom to customize my layout and provide great protection for my gear. Not having to roll a bag that screams "CAMERA GEAR! PLEASE TAKE ME!" through the airport or streets is comforting.

Shooting Out of the Duffel

Using the Large Peak Design Camera Cube v2 inside the Travel Duffel 35L creates the ultimate self-contained mobile workstation. Because the Large cube takes up the entire main compartment of the 35L Duffel, it essentially transforms the bag into a dedicated, heavy-duty camera case.My workflow involves dropping the duffel on a table or the floor and shooting right out of it. The combination of the duffel’s wide top hatch and the v2 cube’s expanded, fold-away zipper lid means I get total, unhindered access to my gear without the bag collapsing on itself. The massive capacity of the Large size easily handles the wide-bodied Nikon Z8 and a heavy rotation of pro S-Line glass. It safely swallows the Z8 attached to a 24-70mm f/2.8 S or 14-24mm f/2.8 S, alongside the massive 85mm f/1.2 S, the MC 105mm f/2.8 Macro, and the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S. Even the giant 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR can be laid across the layout when configured properly. For Z8 shooters who need a rugged, fast-access floor-or-table workspace on location, this Large cube and 35L Duffel combo is flawless.

Thoughtfully designed and very well made. Like all their gear. I ordered a few different sizes to see what worked best for my load out.
