I bought the 35/45 travel backdrop for a trip to Europe. Previously when traveling, I used an Osprey that had several pockets, but it didn't seem like it carried a lot. I was looking for a "clam" style backpack to carry more on our trip. I spent quite a bit of time looking at all the name brand backpacks and after an extensive research, I landed on the DP 35/45 travel backpack. This backpack had all of the features that I was looking for. The designers of this product hit a home run with their design and all of the features. I like the fact that this can be collapsed or expanded depending on how much you are carrying. I really like that the shoulder straps can be tucked in when not needed. This was a very unique feature and none of the other backpacks that I was looking had this feature. They all had removable back straps or could not be removed at all. The anti-theft features also stood out for me. Even though this is a "claim" shell type of backpack, there are still enough compartments to hold the smaller items I am packing. I like that I have quick access to my iPad and headphones. I like that there are multiple ways to access the items in the backpack (side, front and back). I bought my wife a different brand backpack and after our trip, she is now wishing that I had bought the DP 35/45 L for her. The quality of the material is excellent and this should last a lifetime. I'm so glad that I bought this and can't wait to use it again. As this backup is so wonderfully made, I have created my own wish list of DP product that I would like to purchase in the future. While the cost of this backpack was more than I was originally looking to spend, I have come to realize that you get what you pay for and it is better to buy quality products and not cheap out and have issues with a lesser product.

I love this product! I am traveling with it right now at the airport. I love it so much, I bought my son one. I wish I could trade it in for a more feminine color.

Broken Structural Plastic Backplate

So I love the bag however i don't like the fact that with my use case it breaks after a year or so. What do I mean by that? The backplate in which the backstrap hinges broke now on two backpacks. I Got a replacement on the first one and the second one suffered the same fate. I can still use it but i'm scared to pick it up by one strap because the hinge could fall out through the broken backplate. The backplate also breaks in the spots where it connects to the top handle. It's really frustrating. I don't want to waste peak designs resources but soon i'll probably have to return my current bag too. And it's not like i'm carrying 50 kilograms of tungsten in this bag. My usual setup is a mirrorless camera, 2 bigger Canon L lenses and a couple smaller ones, some tech like power banks and such. Probably less than 10 KG. Did I get super unlucky or did anyone else had this issue?. Check your backplate through the fabric above the hinge and feel if it's broken.

Using the 20lt for camera bag and personal carry on, leaving on trip today. It was a squeeze but fit everything in, maybe should have gone for 30lt but happy with choice. Did a tryout pack earlier and all went smooth. Looking forward to all the compartments and pocket, hope I remember where I put everything. Great quality and sturdy zippers along with lots of hidden feature. I highly recommend looking at the “pro tips” on Peak YouTube videos, these are very valuable for a first time pack to help put things in the best place.

I’m excited to use this on my trip today. So many great and useful features. Places to put things, places to hide things, like straps, places to grab. Too many features to highlight. I can stow my computer and my tablet and have enough room to pack for several days clothes. It’s well made of durable material and looks beautiful.

Feature-rich but heavy travel backpack

This is an exquisitely put together backpack. Love the materials, love the look. It does what I need it to do, which is help me lug around luggage from the airport or train station into a taxi or public transportation and to a hotel if I don't want to bring a suitcase.
The common complaint about the padding being lacking is entirely reasonable, but given my use case and me being sized like a standard-issue male (1.79 m, 90-105 kg, depending on the season), I can't complain about discomfort.
It is feature rich, just like every PD backpack, and heavy for what it is because of it, just like most of PD's gear. Whether or not the features are necessary for you is a different question altogether. I don't, but the weight does not bother me one bit.

Great for condensed packing for 3-5days

I bought this about a month ago for work trips where I have to travel on budget airlines as this gives me 8.5kg of capacity rather than losing around 3-5kg with a wheeled bag. I’ve used it on a couple of trips now and have been full up to 10kg and it’s been great
I’m 5’2 and I find the straps comfortable as long as I use the chest strap when I have it packed out at that weight. Love all the pockets inside which worked great for my various tech bits, makeup, and work odds and sods. I managed to pack for a 5 day trip in this including laptop and iPad and still had room to be bringing some extra samples back with me. Love the way it opens and there’s ample space for some PD compression cubes and a couple of the soft pouches too. My 6’ other half tried it while it was packed at 10kg and he also found it comfortable

Probably the best backpack on the market

The best backpack I ever own. All the little details, like pockets placement, hidden hip belt, the access to the main compartment and the fabric use was engineer. Such a great pack!
