I took this bag on a 10-day trip to Italy, and it exceeded all my expectations. With an average of 25-30k steps each day, the bag remained incredibly comfortable throughout. One day, I carried two bottles of wine and a quilt around Capri with ease; on another, I transported five bottles of wine from Ischia to Sorrento without a hitch. The clam shell design was a game-changer—when I nearly got pickpocketed in Rome, the thief couldn’t get into the bag, thanks to how I secured the zippers. Initially, I was concerned the bag might be too big, but when it came time to pack souvenirs and wine, the extra space was a lifesaver.
I even used it as my carry-on in the airport, and it held everything I needed with room to spare.
This bag was, without a doubt, the best travel companion I could have asked for.

Things to be improved: Expandable water bottles pocket( too small now) Small and midsize cameras cube can’t fit well for the clipping points Large camera cube doesn’t fit( even expanded ) Should have side access Should have bigger quick access in the front Bigger ID pocket Add more little pocket at the side/ back for small things ( key, cards, wallet

I'm in love - even after 6weeks in Europe

I brought just this backpack to Europe for 6weeks and I'm never traveling without it again. Pockets for every accessory. Expandable when I wanted to fit gifts for family. Rugged with the waist attachment to do 100 miles around Mont Blanc. Looking cool in stylish cities like Copenhagen. I paired the pack with the large clothes compression bag and the waist belt. I love lay flat opening. The zippers are strong and reliable. The rotating shoulder straps are useful when stowing the bag at a hostel, airplane or car. I always get compliments. As an engineer and designer myself I really appreciate the attention to detail and elegant execution of this bag. I highly recommend.

Well made but ......

I bought this to see if I could do without my wheel on small suitcase. Sadly for me it has some design deficiency's. Biggest problem is no front opening zip pocket for easy access to travel documents when on the move. Inside the zip up side pouches are too small for small items like boxes of medicines to safely stow them into. A combination of the toiletries and small photo cube take up over half the space of the 30 litre leaving just enough for limited overnight wear. The side water bottle pockets are very tight even for a small plastic bottle of water. That said its well made and quite comfortable to wear with a 9kg load on board.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice travel bag, but some nits...

I've used this bag for 2-3 day trips, and even bought the small camera cube and optional hip belt. It is very well thought out, and stows under normal airliner seats, mostly. I like the shoulder straps a lot as well. Adding a small camera cube, and I can still use it for an overnight trip. Frankly, I could probably go five days without the cube.
I'm not, however a big fan of the sternum strap and the optional hip belt. Both will work once they are connected, but the non-standard connector means I have to actively look at them to buckle them up. I'm assuming Peak went with their design to make them easier to stow, but there is a useability hit.

Very nice bag but…

I’m very glad I bought this; have used it a couple of times and am very impressed. But the computer sleeve should be snapped or zippered into place so it can be removed. Not everyone wants to take a heavy piece of electronics on a trip. I plan to cut the sleeve out of my bag (shame to have to do that to such an expensive item) because I could use the extra space. Yes, there is at least another 1.5 inches of packing room to be gained by removing the sleeve.

This bag is so cool! I can carry a lot of stuff, and it has the best quality I’ve ever seen on a bag. Lots of space, and I got the NY special edition which is an awesome camouflage design. So happy I found this store. All employees were super amable.

This bag is built like a tank and the hide away back straps are great. Handles on all sides is a must and love the interior side pockets. Only downsides are -the water bottle pockets are awful. They need to be made bigger. -The hidden pocket for the lash straps feels like it could come open making them fall out, so I put them inside one of the interior side pockets. - no tidy slide for the adjust straps on the back straps? some velcro ties fixed that issue. -The sternum strap is awkward to use. The top handle could be placed at the center of the top of the bag for better balance.
