10L Sling as school bag
on April 7, 2020
Posted by: PK Tintamusik
I am a student and this 10 sling suit all my need for school necessity. I always put my 13'inch laptop(Asus Zenbook S13, now I switched to Dell XPS13, Both are easily fit), laptop charger, Hydro Flask, A4 size folder for school papers, and stationery. There is still enough space for a T-Shirt and a short if I want to put them there. Perfect size for my school day.

Low Profile & Versatile

I was ultimately looking for a small lightweight bag for my 6D mkII. I kept the 5L and the 6L they both work as hip bags and or slings. I love that they have a spot for the capture clip and I've found that to be very convenient when riding or walking. Its been a great experience and I highly recommend you get one or more I absolutely love these bags and I use them all the time. My current configuration in the main compartment is my 6D with a 40mm lens, my cannon flash and remote, Slide strap on top, the inside pockets to the left and right hold my flash gels. The zip pocket inside the lid holds spare batteries, pens, cleaning stuff and whatever else I think i may need. My joby tripod fits underneath the bag with the added straps. Depending on how my shoots go I'll change them up to my needs. The 5L I use to carry more lens if I want more. When shooting the hip function really makes it convenient to swap gear as needed. The front pocket I don't really use much but the slide strap build into the bags are the biggest thing I loved. The 5L doesn't have a tripod holder but the legs fit behind the strap so I can still bring it. Thank you for creating these bags as they serve a great purpose in my creative flow.

Excellent sling. Comforatable

I found the 10L could be about 11L's and still be great. Overall sling v2 is awesome, can adjust the 'cushion'. Haven't used it too much, but carrying a a6600 + extra lense & a nikon fm10 film. Both fit with a few extra inside. Snug but works!

Sling 3L

Love love love this little bag, the only change I'd ask is to make the front pocket a bit larger, and I'd also love to see one extra loop added to the bottom so you can attach a strap that goes across the chest to make the bag more secure when riding a bike or motorcycle. Other than that's it's perfect for my mirrorless gear.

A Surprisingly Robust And Elegantly Stylish Camera Bag
on April 30, 2020

I recently purchased the 6L Everyday Sling V2 bag in ash color to match my Peak Leash camera strap. I really like how the redesign makes this newer version much slimmer and does does stick out as far from your body like other bulkier bags.
It is quite small, but once opened, it reveals a surprisingly roomy interior for a bag of this size. It is great for my mirrorless setup including a Fuji X-E3 and 2 lenses - plus specific pockets for batteries etc. for a lightweight day trip without the need for carrying every piece of gear under the sun. Also, don't be fooled - although the fabric looks like it could be made into a great-looking suit -- it is rugged and keeps it shape firmly and has good padding. The small leather touch point accents puts it in the realm of good style and design without being pretentious.
A very happy camera man indeed! JR

I use it to have my camera every day going to work by bike. This way I don't loose opportunity in my time off to take photograph. All my gear is to heavy for a real full backpack on a bike for long ride. This messenger bag is convenient for the fact that it swings around and allow all the photograph set up to be made standing without putting the bag down or using a table. The other thing of major concern is the weather protection and the padding of the bag are very great. If anything append on my bike that damages the camera, it will probably be because I have suffered myself severe injuries. And at that point photography will be secondary. Other bag may ave better fabric to repel water, but this one is built in a way that leave no gaps for water to get in. I live in Victoria BC, and it rain half of the year over here. I did not have any issues with my gear getting wet and I bike an hour and half a day in the week. So in short more is less.

Almost perfect, still the best you can get.

I like to carry a lot of things on me every day, especially when I go out and explore, or go on a hike, or to the beach, etc. This bag allows me to carry everything i need, plus a little bit more. I leave extra space to put a water bottle inside, and the small zip pocket on the inside-top allows me to carry a whole bunch of little extras, and keep them organized too.
The 6L can fit an 11 inch iPad Pro, however, only just barely. The actual way that you have to access the tablet pouch is by pulling the compartment divider forward out of the opening of the bag, which then allows you to slide your ipad in to it. I wish that it was a little bit slipperier, or easier to slide in and out of. I carry my iPad Pro everyday day, so I have been getting used to it. But I do feel like I'm close to bending it sometimes when I try to pull it out.
All in all, I highly recommend the 6L version, its the perfect size to carry around, and not feel like you're hefting around a huge bag.

The Perfect Sling - Almost the Perfect Bag
on May 1, 2020

I have a photo backpack that I use for hiking, travel and longer trips, but I wanted something smaller I could take for short walks around the city or when I didn't need all my gear. I settled on the sling v2 and it was a great decision. It's padded well, organization is great, and all the cool features you expect from Peak Design are as advertised. The 6L was a little small for what I wanted to bring (an 8L for v3 is wishful thinking but would be perfect!) so I'm returning and getting the 10L instead. The only reason I say this bag isn't quite perfect is that I found the overall shape to be a little challenging with certain body/lens setups. It's a trapezoid shape, which means you lose a bit of space if you're carrying a wide angle lens on a DSLR body. The one I have is a biiiit wide to put in face down, but if I flip it upside down, then the body doesn't really fit and the front of the lens sticks out. Small complaint, but it was enough to make me upgrade the size. Looking forward to my 10L! And please PD consider an 8L for the next iteration of these!
