I thought I was thrilled with my Everyday Messange

I bought my PeakDesign Everyday Messenger years ago and traveled all over the world with this great camera bag. I bought other PeakDesign accessories and thought I could not be happier, then things changed... My V1 Messenger Bag began to fray at the carry strap till it was about to fail. I email PeakDesign and their staff was AWESOME. My new even better Everyday Messenger V2 bag arrived in days as warranty! Staff was friendly, informative, and products great.
All simple: Great products and impeccable staff and warranty. Cannot ask for more!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Quality is always astonish, but..

I have V1 and V2.
I'm using both bag in work 100% of the time, I have to pack different things into it - pens, pair of hard A4 folders, a knife - could be useful in lots of situations, wallet, business cards, cables, phone, notebook for notes, etc. Sometimes when I did a little shopping in groceries store V1 always allows me to hold those extra items without doubt - V2 with 13L won't. I've just found out Messenger is a great cooler box when you put some cold into it, it held cold things for hours.
At the end, V2 is great anyway, but for my needs is a 'step backward'. Significantly lesser space for goods, a BIG way smaller front pocket (an iphone 5s or even a business card won't fit vertically because of zip sticks at closing) and it comes without any back pocket, which was extremely useful for me. Other pockets smaller, thinner, hard to find what to store in it. And it comes in only in 13L is a great MEH. (I think when sales went good at start a 15L (or bigger) will apear in store.)
I like new curves, new shoulder strap, overall quality, capture clip holder is way better then on V1.
Just V2 is not for me - maybe only for photographers with some cameras and tiny addons. If you want to use literally in everyday situations, I suggest you to buy V1 or V1+ - V2 15L wont be better, because missing pockets will there, and whick pockets are currently there won't be bigger. (Confute me PD. :)
I love all PD products which I have, maybe V3 will be the ultimate bag in any view.

It is always all about Design, Quality and Functionality.
I recently bought this V2 in a retail shop, knowing V1 (or V1.5) already from a friend, with the hope to get the same extraordinary usability combined with a greater design. Unfortunately I returned it and bought here one of the last V1.5 messenger.
Advantages - relevant for me
- yes, a new design which is a bit better than the prev. one
- new zipper concept for the front pocket
- some new interieur pockets
- zipper for the side-pockets
Disadvantages compared to V1.5
- no external access to the MacBook
I tried it out several times with this V2 version, but I gave up - always totally open the bag is a step backward
- no quick access via zipper to smaller items of the main compartement
- front pocket is much too small, even with the better access via the new zipper concept (this was important to me)
Unfortunately the design with V2 was pushed a bit too strong. Especially the very special features with the external access to the main compartment and the external MacBook pocket are lost for a cleaner look. That´s a pity. Really! Another example is the luggage pass-through which overtakes the complete back now, which is a bit lost of space. The V1.5 solution worked already and looked great.
Nevertheless, it is still an outstanding bag and worth to buy. But it lost some extra-ordinary features to improve the design. You do not make something wrong buying this version. The quality is simple worth a wow!

I recently purchased the latest version of your Everyday Messenger bag. I love the bag except for one major problem. Why is the material that the bag is made of so stiff? This makes opening the bag difficult & keeping it open almost impossible. Fix that issue & it becomes a 5 star product.

I am pretty obsessed with Peak design bags and I got this after a warranty claim on my 1st gen 15 liter messenger.
There is so much to love about this bag compared to the previous gen:
1. Improved materials. The shell looks indestructible, the blacked out version looks like it was designed for Batman, the zipper is stronger.
2. Improved design. Strap functions better and is more adjustable. The padding is awesome.
3. Side pockets with zippers!
Even though I will list some criticisms I still consider this an excellent bag.
1. The flap/cover of the bag is so stiff that it won't stay open easily. It's aggressively wanting to stay closed.
2. Less organization/ space in the front zipped accessories pocket than previous gen.
3. No 15 liter version.
When 15 liter version comes out I am buying it instantly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great bag, a no worries messenger

I've had this a while now; finally getting to review it after a lot of use. I've taken this up Alaskan mountains, in the snow, and it was great for my gear. Lately, I've been on a motorcycle traveling around Maui's roads. Through strong trade winds; through winding back roads with sharp corners, and only one lane; in the misty rain, to heavy rains; along lava fields, high up over the ocean: this bag didn't slip and stayed where it was set. On motorcycle, tightened strap with a quick action and off I went. This trip, I carried Nikon D850 with Nikkor 14-24mm F1.2 and a Godox flash and extra batteries. Gear was well protected from the elements. The high winds at lava cliffs didn't give me pause as I knew bag held in place. Quick access to gear and the wind was not an issue. As well as hiking over the lava fields, with its grippy trip inducing rocks and rough terrain, you had to be aware of you walking, not worrying about your bag. Well worth buying!
I would recommend this to a friend!

The bag we have all needed but didn't know it

This is the camera bag I have been looking for all my life. It has it all including places to put things like pens (remember them). On the outside it looks anonymous and not like a camera bag. Inside it is grey so you can actually see things and the magic folding dividers really work and can be changed in a trice and allow you to put things underneath. I can carry ALL my rangefinder equipment plus the laptop and charger.
The strap doesn't cut in and feels silky and is easily adjustable. The clasp really works and shuts firmly but is also easy to open one handed.
This bag knocks all other bags into a cocked hat to use an expression.

Nice, well built bag, but...

I got this to replace my v1 messenger bag, which I actually liked better. Outside access to the computer/tablet pocket is gone. The main thing I don't like is the fabric shell is extremely stiff, which makes access somewhat cumbersome (flap does not want to stay open). If this were in a softer material it would be dynamite. I'm thinking of replacing it.
