V2 is a clear downgrade from V1.5 of the Messenger. (more issues could not be fit in 1500 character limit)

To begin, I have been using the Everyday Messenger V1.5 for a year and a half now and have been lightly eyeing the Everyday Messenger V2 since purchase, I had assumed that move from an external laptop pocket to an internal pocket would not be very difficult.
I was right about that. What I was not prepared for was the worse quality of many of the other portions of the bag. The previously metal fasteners were replaced with metal. The strap on the V1.5 bag employs a much easier method to remove and reattach the main strap, this encourages both messenger usage and briefcase usage, which the style of the V1.5 worked more for. The new strap on this bag has 2 fatal design flaws from what I can tell, firstly, the strap is a more abrasive material, so when adjusting, it more frequently gets caught on clothing or on itself. The second flaw is that on the original bag, the length adjustments (the portion of the strap where the strap loops over a small rod to reduce overall strap length) of the bag were located between the bag and the quick adjust slider. This meant that when adjusting, the bag's weight was always pulling in favor of adjusting length in either direction. in the new design the more abrasive material combined with the length adjustment being put between the main pad and the quick adjust (also encountering friction with the body) meant tightening the strap was near impossible to do easily. Not only this, but it does not come in 15L, hoping for a return to form in a V3.

How to take a great bag and make it horrible

I had the v2 of this bag and now got the v3 because a friend saw the older one I had and took it from me. So I got the new version and it's so stiff and falls over all the time. The zipper that accessed the main compartment from the top that I used all the time is gone. I find it so frustrating that I am basically not using it and wish I could get my old bag back.

I was in love with V1 so after some years of use, when V2 came out, I bought it immediately! I found it absolutely superior to the already great previous version, but I got an issue on long walks when carrying quite heavy gear in it. In that case the bag material, it was kind of "sand brushing" sometime the fabric of the clothes, in the area of contact. A smoother and less "abrasive" material there, could be the right improvement indeed, to gain the five stars, if you would ask to me.

I bought the Everyday Messenger Bag years ago on Kickstarter and I have loved it from day 1. I work in film and literally every day I walk on set with this thing, I get multiple compliments on the bag. It is like a magnet for love. That being said, it is not just about the BAG- recently, the shoulder strap on the bag had been deteriorating (from constant use) and it was making me sad. I looked into DIY fixes and I found nothing that satisfied me, so I contacted Peak Design. I was looking to PURCHASE a new strap but to my amazement, I didn't have to. The team at PD took a genuine interest is my issue and after seeing the totally reasonable wear and tear on a bag used daily, they simply replaced my ENTIRE BAG for free. The warranty is no joke- I was not looking to replace the bag, I just wanted a new strap, but the team went above and beyond to make me whole and I could not be happier or more impressed with a company that stands by their work and behind their product. 10/10 would recommend Peak Design as a whole.

The bag is an excellent product. It lives up to it's price point. The quality is very good. I use it as camera bag and for non photography use. It's very comfortable during my every day fixie riding in Miami Beach. I'm very happy I purchased it.

My husband loves this bag! The first one that was delivered to us was torn, probably during delivery. Customer support was awesome, got back to me right away, and sent us a new one super quickly. This bag is great for his camera gear, taking to work, etc. Thanks Peak Design!
