V1 & V1.5 are way better.

I originally had the v1 13" everyday messenger bag and loved it! I use it for weddings and when my v1 started to fall apart (I use my bags as intended and don't baby it) I looked into the v2 that a fellow photographer had. We both didn't like how smaller and more cumbersome it was to use compared to the v1. I ended up with the inbetween version, where they had a slight update on the v1...I call it the v1.5 where they added the luggage pass through and a few small upgrades to the interior of the bag but mostly kept everything good that the v1 had and this bag is my favorite out of them all!
The issue w/ the v2 is the cover is so rigid that it's difficult to over-pack it when needed. w/ the v1 & v1.5, I can easily fit a tripod/lightstand inside laid across the top and use the latch cover to hold it in place. This new v2 is still a solid bag and probablyt he most stylish of the bunch AND if you've never experienced how awesome v1 & v1.5 is, then you won't feel like you're missing out.

The bag you need. A messenger with the depth of a photo bag. Sturdy as, brainy features, designed and made with love by a planet loving B Corp. If you’re not sure, watch the You Tube how to clip. Best ever, it will walk you through its features. Yes, it really is that good. Thanks so much, John

Best built messenger bag

I own the first generation of this bag. Manufacturing and materials is top notch. Version 2 is even better. My family also owns a first generation and second generation tote. Keep in mind, though, if you are transitioning from the first generation messenger to this one, it’s size sits between the small and large bags. So, if you had the large bag and maximized space use in it, this one might be a little small.

Excellent bag for everyday use

This bag is excellent for photographers who do not need to carry a case full of accessories. The design is great with the separators and their flexibility. Soft touch fabrics throughout the entire large storage area gives peace of mind for all your camera components. The smaller zipped portion is awesome to carry your everyday items as well.
My only complaint, but not really, on this is that the strap quality has diminished over time. Not the belt portion itself but the added rubber trim attached over it for comfort has started to deteriorate. Not a big deal but for someone who cares about appearance, it will bother you.

Comfortable and great size

I use this bag all the time to bring my extra gear on trips. Very handy and stores a lot. I love the convenience of the closure and the little features that make things easy to separate gear.

Perfect messenger bag

I use the middle size for a EOS R with one lens and an action camera. The quality is awesome. The look is awesome. The only thing I don't like is how tight the front pocket is. If you put something small there like an extra battery or SD card it is a little painful (literally) to find it and get it out. This pocket is usable only for something that you will not use often

Using this for a mirrorless and lenses. Beautifully made; mostly great. Balance is "off" a bit; tips over when loaded. Needs a flatter bottom. Would love a side pocket (zippered) for my phone.

Best Bags out there

I have bought many bags over the years including brands like Boundary Supply. I have to say that Peak Design is by far the best bag I have ever owned. It is not just the quality of what you get and pay for, but in fact every time you use the items they somehow communicate to you that the people that have created what you are using have gone done this with great passion, professionalism, and a very focused attention to detail. I know I wont be looking anywhere else for my bags or accessories.
