I bought a V1 bag but after a problem it was replaced with a V2 bag. There have been several design changes from V1 to V2 - not all good!
The cons: 1. The side entry flaps on the V1 stayed open and made access very easy. V2 has less flexible flaps and they flop closed very easily and quickly, making access problematic. 2. Inside the access flaps on the V1 was one large zipped pocket with smaller pockets inside. These were excellent and and you could store so much stuff inside. On the V2, there is now 2 smaller pockets of less than half the size and you can not store as much nor as bigger items. 3. On the V1, there was a waist strap cleverly hidden inside the bag. I do a lot of hiking and this was used all the time. On the V2, this has been removed and you now have to spend $30+ more getting the same strap back again. 4. There are small magnets all over the bag which keep flaps and straps in place. This is a great until you go hiking in Iceland where the whole island is covered in iron ash and rock. You suddenly find the magnets covered in iron filings - not great for a camera bag! 5. The fabric is waterproof but the seams are not so if out in rain you can get water ingress around the seams.
Pros: 1. The laptop opening on the V2 has been made wider which makes getting a laptop in and out much easier. There is an odd tablet holder thing inside as well which just seems pointless. 2. The design is quite good and the straps tidy away nice and easy. 3. The internal dividers are well designed but take a bit of time to get them positioned correctly.

Smart design - Bad comfort

Great idea for the design, but be aware that it is not suitable for long distance. Very uncomfortable once on your back. Back side of the bag is too straight and the shoulder straps are too thin. I used it for a 5 hours hiking (an easy one) and I had marks on my shoulders and pain during 24 hours.
That's a great bag overall, the comfort must be improved for the V3.

One of the best but could be better...

The bag is very smartly designed like most PD products, very intuitive to use and the materials are top notch. The issue that I had however was with the material being used in the back of the backpack, when you put a lot of weight like when you are carrying a lot of your camera gear, etc the material is coarse so it will mess up/ruin your shirt depending on what you have on. Before I noticed how the material was really pilling the shirt material because of the high friction, I ruined two nice shirts I wore when carrying the backpack, now I know better but still....

Really cool bag that just isn't very comfortable

I was eyeing the PD Everyday Backpack for a long time, and ended up pulling the trigger on the 30L variant, which I've now been using for about 3 months, both for everyday carry and on a several trips. To be clear, the build quality is top notch, the organization and storage is awesome, and it has a bunch of thoughtful features (like shoulder straps that stick to the back via magnets when not in use). Unfortunately for me, however, the bag just isn't comfortable to wear, particularly when I have a little weight in there. Unlike other premium backpacks I own/have used, the back of the PD bag is super rigid and flat, so it just doesn't "hug" my back comfortably.
For context, I usually always keep my MacBook Pro 13", iPad Pro 12.9, a PD Tech Pouch, and a Sony RX100, in the bag, so it's not like it's super heavy, but it def has some weight to it. Also, I'm 5'10" and weight ~200lbs. Even after just wearing it around the airport when travelling, it just really fatigues my back. Another "feature" that I feel is subpar is the sternum strap, although if it were the only issue, it certainly wouldn't be a deal-breaker - I would much prefer your standard (albeit less sexy) clip for the sternum strap (even if I could buy it as an add on).
Obviously YMMV, and it may fit you perfectly, but if you are considering wearing this backpack for long stretches of time, it may really be worth trying it on before purchasing.
I hope that PD's next version of this bag makes some improvements to it's ergonomics!

The Traveling Photographer's Best Friend

I was on assignment traveling throughout the EU this year. I made the mistake of taking my older, other brand backpack with me on the first few trips. I then invested and bought the Everyday Backpack V2. The difference in quality, design and ease-of-use was striking. I felt like I upgraded from a used Pontiac Aztek to a Porsche 911.
Peak Design thought of everything. So many things I flagged as problems from the previous bag were integrated as useful, intelligent solutions on the EDB. The external carry straps, quick-release top flap, magnetic should strap keepers. All of it. Traveling with a ton of gear went from a nightmare chore to actually kind of enjoyable.
Like my 6L Sling, I absolutely love this bag and evangelize for it wherever I go. I even ran into another photographer in Warsaw on my flight with the same backpack. We gave each other a satisfied look and confident nod. No words spoken, but we completely understood each other. Thanks for making this bag.

Looks old immediately.

I've had this bag about two months and have only been taking it out and using it one month. Part of the reason I bought this bag instead of a cheaper alternative was because it looked good, enough to bring to the office once things open up. Well, the bag already looks a mess.
The fabric is some kind of chalkboard fabric that attracts dust and the black coating on the hardware is almost completely gone in some places. I don't understand. At first I thought it was just scuffs that would wipe off but they don't wipe off even with soap and water. Friends have come up to me and said “why is your bag so dirty?” And “you need a new bag!” - I've been using it A MONTH!!!
I have a DJI mavic air 2 bag of similar material that I have been taking out for a year and it still looks brand new, this is a peak design problem. If you know the coating chips off the hardware - why use that coating? Couldn't you leave it the natural color? The whole point of this product (I thought) was longevity and durability. I bought the black color specifically because I didn't want it to show wear, it looks like a 5 year old bag. I have no doubt it will still be functional long into the future but it looks awful.
Overly impressed with this bag, I wanted 'on the go' access without putting my bag down, something to travel with me everyday. I did my research on competitive products. the bag is higher priced than most but I received a high quality bag... I'd buy it again without a second thought. One of the best designed and made products I've purchased in a long while.

So Many Uses. V2 (30L)

So, I’m a pilot, and I use this bag for nothing photography related, but I’m obsessed with the organizational aspect of the Peak Design backpack. I can fit my headset, my books, my sentry, laptop, iPad, batteries, cables, badges, etc all in a very very organized location all without it looking like a bunch of garbage throw into a bag. The Maglatch is my favorite thing ever, I use it all the time to access my books, while I use the side zippers to access the contents while my bag is on a table or in the aircraft.
Had a few loose threads upon arrival, but I just cut the loose ends off and I haven’t had any issues regarding integrity of sewn joints.
Iv had my students ask about this bag and tell me they were interested in it many times. I highly recommend to anybody.
