I've used this backpack for years now and it's amazing. I love how easy it is. I'm a musician and I use it for gigs, putting cables and microphones inside. I use it for traveling, I use it for going to the grocery store. Sometimes I put groceries inside of it. This is so versatile and I am a bag lover, this is truly my favorite bag. I do go between the 20L and 30L bag. It depends on the day, I am a crazy person and have both.
I purchased this bag a year and a half ago and have used it as my go to travel bag ever since. It's incredibly flexible to meet the needs of various different trips and holds up well to wear and tear. It's just the right size for a personal item on a plane and is easy to attach to luggage. The side access zips in particular make this very easy to access on a plane.
Recently, the top metal latch-point for the top/main pocket came loose. Within 24 hours of sending an email, Peak Design sent out a brand new bag.
I discovered your company when you released your viral video of the everyday sling and Amazon's blatant rip-off. Since then, I've fallen in love with your products. Our family now owns 3x everyday backpacks, 2x tech pouches, 1x wash pouch, and 1x travel duffel 35L (and will likely continue to expand with time).
I love the everyday backpack so much. I placed my tech pouch in the bottom compartment, and it fits perfectly (no surprise there knowing you guys). The origami dividers work very well and allow for a large range of compartmentalizing. I've even found a few places to stow away stuff that the backpack probably wasn't designed for it, but works great anyhow. - The magnetic flap on the front towards the bottom of the backpack holds some straps in there, but I was able to also put in a pair of gloves should I ever need it while out and about. You can't even tell I put something in there. - When you undo the velcro strap to readjust the height of the laptop compartment, I found that you can hide a small folded-up drawstring backpack in between the two velcro lines. Again, you can't even tell.
I appreciate the quality and deep thought put into everything. It really shows. Sometimes I've loaded this backpack so much that it could hurt someone's back if they lifted it wrong. However, I have such confidence in the strength of the straps (and everything else) that I don't have any concern about swinging it around onto my back and the possibility of it breaking and falling to the ground, damaging everything within and ruining my day. I love that the top flap has multiple places to latch to expand or collapse the height. 11/10 would recommend for an everyday backpack.
Found this bag via YouTube and while I’m hardly the target audience, I wanted it for its adaptive interior and space. But when I got it, I found so much more to appreciate. Magnetic straps to the bag body to keep them out of the way, front hook to help heavy loads, lots of small inside pockets as well as adaptable inside shelves. This bag is very pricey but so far it’s very worth it. Should last me a long time.
The Everyday Backpack is really well made and the features are really well thought out. I didn't need a full camera backpack as I just wanted a bag to hold my mirrorless camera with one extra lens for chasing the kids on outings and vacations, and this bag serves that purpose well. The side access is fast and works well and while I didn't think I'd use the MagLatch much, it's come in handy to stuff the kids' jackets into the bag when they're not using them. So far I've only had two minor issues. First, I haven't been able to figure out how to set up the compartments so that a smaller prime lens doesn't just bump around all over the place. Second, I used to use a sling bag that I'd be able to just swing around my body when I wanted to sit down without taking off the bag. It's still sort of possible with the Everyday Backpack, but since it has a hard shell, it's pretty bulky to hold on your lap. None of these are showstoppers though, and really just small nits, but for the comfort, functionality, and high quality materials, it definitely lives up to the hype.
I own 4 of these bags of different versions and designs for my wife and I. We use them mostly for camera gear when traveling. Customization makes it great when you bring different camera and lens combinations so they suit us well. There are many other lighter less expensive options for people with few gear for always shooting the same kit. A few things can be improved: the side pocket configuration of the V1 bags was way better. Also the top strap does not allow to completely open the side pockets which is not preferred. I do like the better straps of the V2 version and the extra magnets. Still love these bags.
The magnetic latch (and magnet pockets and shoulder straps) and the origami dividers are what makes this bag for me. The fact that I have the option to either have a ton of different sections or a completely wide open space, is amazing. What a versatile bag. The other thing I really appreciate about this bag (and this company), is the attention to detail. This is a bag, yes..but it's also a piece of art! Ever since I received the everyday backpack as a Christmas gift last year, I have bought 3 more peak design bags. Definitely a lifelong customer!
I love this backpack! It stores all the lenses I might want for a trip, two bodies, tech gear, a raincoat, phone and wallet. It's the most versatile bag I've ever had and I love that I can go out in the ever-present PNW rain and everything stays dry. Just a great, comfortable bag.
